Great video wish I would’ve seen this sooner and that’s why the icoms sound great right out of the box and the Yaesu’s don’t Now I totally understand it. I cannot thank you enough Dr. Heil thank you so much.
It is a beutifull hobby! 73 and greetings from Germany
Wow!
RIP Bob.
Bob heil is a major jerk, just complain about one of his products.
fASCINATING STORY
Also… my Dad took my brothers and I to Organ Stop Pizza in Phoenix back in the 70’s to see the big Wurlitzer. I love that you can make those sing so well. Oh. and I have been able to play organs by ear since I was 6. 73 my friend. N7NRE Dave.
Hello, Dr. Bob. I love my Heil headphones/ microphone combo from for my Yaesu ham walkie talkie from Ham Radio Outlet for $35. They sound great into both ears and I get get rave reviews on the audio. The price is shockingly low for top quality.
I ordered a new Heil PSE Icom headset, from Giga Parts, it arrived, i can not get the microphone to work... headphones sound great... but no mic output.... giga parts state they will NOT except any returns on Heil headsets.... what can i do?
This video has convinced me to get my license. I am flabbergasted at the life this man's lived. I could listen to his all day long. Amazing instructor with great demonstrations, that kept me engaged and interested. Thank you for this video!
Great video
Dr Bob sure as an interesting life but I wish he would not slag off over companies.
PR40 used with Dynamite amp. Do you recommend this setup. Thank you.
Thanks for this!
He charges $250 for a mike that cost him $30 in parts.
I understand about what Bob said about Klipsch being a efficiency expert......his speakers do not need a lot of watts to fill a room full of music.
Your a polished Gem Sir, I appreciate your unshakable thirst of acquiring knowledge same here
An amazing man. Great video!
I highly look up to this man
I thank Fred and the rest of their club for doing these classes. I have been to their ham Boot camp as well as the extra class ham cram. I actually passed the test and became an extra thanks to them. So glad they are around. Also Thank you Maine ARRL for putting up all these videos. Love watching these. Going thru the older videos now.
Thanks for the lesson Bob! I appreciate your passion for intelligible and articulate audio! I have a heavy voice on air and I struggle to eq out that guttural resonance in my voice. I look forward to more videos on the subject.7 3
Hello Dr Bob I bought a Icom 7300 and a Pro 7 Headset to go with it. I didn't know about the audio settings in the radio. Now everything is set according to your recommendations. I also enjoyed learning about you. Thankyou 73's Gary Clark KF6EWO
Wow! Bob Heil is a very interesting man. Would love to hear all his stories.
Mr Heil, we are so lucky to have you and all of your audio knowledge!
To bad the audio in this video doesn´t meet up with the title. 😔
I was wishing you were using the PR30B! It's my fav mic in the world! I have even encouraged clients to us them as choir mics! I finally own one on my office desk for streaming and recording. What a blessing!
Love Bob and his knowledge. Had the honour of meeting him at a Hamfest here in the UK back around 2010-2011. Quite a gentleman. Listen to what he says!... Andy/M0RAV
So are his products just for Ham Radio? Are the voice frequencies adjustments on ParaEQ and such only for Ham Radio? I'm not a Ham Radio owner, i'm a producer of music and do vocals and numerous music instruments. Im wanting to know if those voice EQ adjustments will be for singers also or just for Ham Radio?
Yaesu long ago changed the bandwidth adjustment to where you are adjusting the Q, meaning that a Q of 1 will affect a large frequency range, or many octaves, and a Q of 10 will only affect a small range. This video must have been made a long time ago, or possibly Mr. Heil is not keeping himself up to date with Yaesu.
Thanks for sharing
At 33:51 exactly I have a 991a sounds like junk yet my 7300 sounds amazing so much more simple to set up a 7300. Yaesu needs to get their stuff together as the average user has no idea setting up 18 settings on a rig to sound decent it’s like wasting 1200$ on a 991a
So informative thanks so much 2E1AJB .
Hi Bob - thanks for taking the time to explain. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and the way in which you capture everyone's attention. I also appreciate your willingness to share information fearlessly and with a can do attitude. There are not many guys like you around. Most appreciated by me and I'm sure by the rest of your country cousins across the pond here in UK. 73 de GI8WFA.
where did you get that giant S meter?!
Wow what a wonderful broadcast from Bob Heil. I have a PR 40 Gold and I love it. I have been a radio broadcaster for over 50 years. I am now studying for my Tech class now I have always wanted to be a Ham. Thanks Bob you have lit a fire under me.
Mr. Bob Heil Hello My name is Nestor (KP4NCB) from Jayuya, PR. I love to watch your very inspiring youtube videos. I learn a lot from them. "A lesson is learned every day, What lesson did you learn today? Whatever it is, I'm sure it's great, Take what you've learned, don't let it wait." Lesson Learned Every Day Poet: Catherine Pulsifer
bob I built my own EQ in 1989.......and 14.178 brought audio to the table we never heard you on 20 meters to discuss audio. 14.178 was world wide frequency for audio and I was one that pushed tx audio..................and your mics had had no audio output to drive to any tansceiver.....i think your better with music.
I want one of those banana audio meters...SERIOUSLY!
Thank you for sharing, I could not get into the live feed. N1ZB
Thanks, Larry!
