Advanced Predictive Modeling with JMP Pro Nov9 2017
In this video we create and explore a variety of predictive models, including classification and regression trees, Bootstrap Forests, Boosted Trees, neural networks, and penalized regression models (Lasso and Elastic Net). We discuss modeling for unbalanced responses, and show how to change the cutoff for model classification. We also see how to use the Formula Depot to compare competing models, select the best model, and write scoring code (C, Python, SAS,…) for model deployment. A quick introduction to mining unstructured text data with the Text Explorer platform is also provided.

    I go to university in Canada. My university only allows access to JMP 9 for some reason. Is it possible for me to update to JMP 13 since most of the data sets on the academic website don't work with JMP 9?

      Hi Abhay, The data sets should open, and most of what is covered in this video should still work in JMP 9. Which university do you go to? If they have a site license they should have access to JMP 13. If they don't have a site license there are other options for getting JMP (see jmp.com/getjmp). Mia

      Thanks for these wonderful tutorials!! I'm going to the Univesity of British Columbia in Vancouver. We are learning JMP for our biostats course and I find this program a lot better than excel.

One option is to go to www.onthehub.com/jmp - you can get a license of JMP 13 for Mac or Windows at a really reasonable price (in the US its $30/6 months or $50/year). Chuck London (chuck.london@jmp.com) can provide information on licensing options if your professor is interested.

      Thanks for your question! You can use JSL (JMP Scripting Language) to pull data into JMP and update a graph. The Query Builder is also nice if you're pulling data in from a data base. Our user community at community.jmp.com is a good place to post general questions like this, to ask more specific questions, or to search answers to similar questions. Our global community members, users and technical experts in various fields, are quick to provide answers and share what they've done.
