My dear old Mum is in 3 of these pictures. I think they did a sponsored walk twice around Carbrooke Fen to raise money for Carbrooke bus shelter. Must’ve been around 1968/9.
Thank you for posting these!
Where did you dig this gem out from?
Wonderful collection many thanks for sharing ❤ ALL brilliant photographs but something about the Verger marching ahead of his Sea Cadet band in that hilariously over pronounced stride just instantly takes me to that very scene then when they start racing against Mainwarings platoon their faces genuinely full of joy laughter and happiness....how did things change to what they are today SO MUCH! 😢
Great rare shots from an episode of the series.
Wonderful photographs, loved Bill Pertwee cracking up as the parade marched faser and faster to get into the lead and the trotting nurses! Just noticed that @ 02.25 to 02.35 and 02.46 to 02.55. the photographs seem to have been transposed.
I'm guessing early 50's?
Takes you back to better days, huh. :P
It’s such a shame that most or all of thetford has gone as it’s heart and soul has gone and every or moist of thetford has been knocked down, 😂
Who were they….???
Great Pictures..
very nice everyone dressed up!
The aircraft still look brand new.
Very excited to happen upon these photos today (April 2023).....but sad to realise i was a camera assistant in Thetford on DA the following year! I have no photos of those years.....

Great comedy.
I have never seen these pictures before. Thank you for sharing.
Now was this due to climate change or because the summer was hit and a big dump of rain and it took a while to soak a way
I wonder where about the feeding was and if that area still has a shoot also and if in sane place

Wow
My brother is in some of those pictures! He was in the ATC in Norwich at the time (231 Sqdn I think) and they played the air cadets in that episode. I think it was called The Big Parade. He's the tall, smiley one behind Capt Mainwaring at 7.59 in the running time (also in other places in that video). Was lovely to stumble across this. RIP Andrew.
To find that point click on 7:59
May I ask what he did after? And now? I’m very interested in how influences on young people shape their future life.
231 Norwich Sqn is still going strong. Those ATC cadets must have had a great time dressing up in the old 1941 uniforms 😊
A real treasure trove of photographs.
Amazing photos, never seen these before. Thankyou so much for posting.
I think Dad's Army would be my favourite comedy ever. All the British ones from that time are wonderful, but this one takes the cake Clive Dunn was hilarious!
I was born that year and so didn't see the Big Parade until some years later. I am a great fan of Dad's Army!
do you know what years this was I also rember this being a night club also that may ha e been 1980 s of late and early 1990s as rember going by this place every day to pick dad up from abel's also rember the radar
Amazing and surreal to capture two different historic times (1940's and 70's) in the collection. Sad to know many of the people in the images have passed on. Loved the insight to the production and direction of a comedy series of that era.
Truly amazing photos of a much loved show, and images of the amazing cast ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤,love the film, but truly missed Janet Davis, the original Mrs Pike🐦😢😢
What station was this?
It's Brandon station David
🎉 Promo`SM!!!
Very interesting shots.
This was so much fun to watch, thank you :)
Do you know what farm this was or where it is. Looking apt the pic was this on way to thetford
Fantastic. I was about 10 yrs old when all these fotos were taken, living in the old and semi derelict farmhouse owned by my grandmother Mrs Drake, on the corner of Gallants Lane and White Hart St - oposite Cardy's garage. Drake's Close is named after my Grandmother, and Sybil Wooldridge, my Mother, was the village postwomen for many years.
Really enjoying these pictures, thanks for sharing,is this building part of the walsingham estate?
Yes indeed, This is only a small part of the hall that remains, most of the hall was lost in a fire in Jan 1956 when used as a boys school, whom had moved here following a fire from there previous school at Old Buckenham hall. The building was used as the entrance to the hall, there were at one time marks which were made by the 5th Baron when returning at speed on his horse and carriage, coming in at speed and each time catching the carriage on the side wall of the entrance. The doors were introduced many years after the main fire. I am pleased to have and continue to digitise these images for the Watton Museum, part of a collection from Studio Khyber.

Absolutely wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing them.
I second that, fantastic show..... I'll have to admit corporal Jones was one of my favorites, obviously had signs of PTSD..... I'm pretty sure he had the most extensive military service out of all of them.
@@simmonsrenos9111 Don't panic, Corporal!
@simmonsrenos9111 what in your opinion makes you say so in re of Corporal Jones especially in ref to 'ptsd' ? I don't ever remember any scene involving Jones with what you would remotely class as PTSD Aged yes certainly.
Carnival was nothing like this in the 90s I wish it was as good as this looked
This was for the season 4 episode "The Big Parade".
