I have a massive pomegranate tree in my yard. Unfortunately after ten years I am yet to taste just one. Reason? The possums get to them before they’re ripe enough to eat.

I had no idea they were so hard to strike! My friend gifted me a seedling with only its two baby leaves less than a year ago and I just whacked it in the middle of my main veggie garden having no idea it was going to grow as tall as a house and a few metres wide!! Not sure what I did right but the tree is the biggest pigeon pea tree I have ever seen in my life!!! Now I have been struggling to save the seeds because 1, it’s so tall, and 2, the parrots 🦜 legit love this thing and they’re in it every day eating the immature peas from the pods and I love watching the birds in the treee so I figured I didn’t mind sharing. I’ve been having to harvest them immaturely and am hoping for the best… I might have to cover a branch to protect it…. Thanks for sharing your video! Totally agree with you on saving our own seeds and letting the plant adapt to our environment !!

I'm so jealous! what an adorable longhorn beetle. if I was there I would have picked it up and enjoy interacting with it before letting it go. nothing makes me happier than finding a cool bug. sadly, the winters here are hard for me because basically every insect is out of sight

Longhorn beetle of some type. We have them here above the 56th parallel north in Saskatchewan, they live in spruce trees and are quite numerous in summer. Locals call them "pinchers" or "spruce bugs."
