Taken 10/16/2024 - this was the weanlings response to adding buckets at feeding time. A few eventually ate from the buckets but they just weren't ready for that change.

Out at evening check and caught some of the foals playing on some leftover hay from winter. Ruger (Mr Catsanova x Snowbum Shini Quiote) finally has someone to play with and I think he's pretty happy about that. Mama wasn't to happy when he got up to his old antics of harassing her!

We brought the girls in and dewormed them last week. We are a little over 2 weeks away from the beginning of foaling season and the excitement is here!

Sometimes you get lucky while you're out in the pasture and catch something fun. I was taking pictures of some of our future prospects drinking when this yearling started walking into the water. I thought she was about to give herself a bath and figured I should catch it on video!

2022 Palomino Filly Laughing Sun Joaker x Color Me Upset (AqHR) Malibu and her owner started doing some light ground work and her owner says she did an amazing job and is very willing.

Queenie's owners sent us this video update of her playing out in the pasture after morning turn out. Look at those impressive lead changes. Her owners are very excited to start riding her in the spring. Queenie is from our 2022 foal crop and is sired by our AQHA stallion Laughing Sun Joaker out of our AqHR mare Stormin It Hollywood.

This is how we introduce the weanlings to grain. We start with some oats in a trough and eventually add in some pelleted Safe Choice Mare & Foal. Once they are eating that really well we move the feed to individual fence feeder buckets.
