On 2/17/2013 a group of buddies and I decided to hit Corral Canyon up for some wheeling. What seemed like a stock friendly trail turned out to be an all day adventure. If you watch the video, you'll know why.

This is from our Johnson Valley run that the Wrangler Forum hosted on 10-27-12. The videos are raw edits with sound from the trip. Excuse the annoying narrations.
Ace Rock Rails in use....
Переглядів 30 тис.11 років тому
Well. I've been a disbeliever for quite a while. Until a buddy of ours came wheeling with us. And on this trail, I got a rare moment I have been asking and seeking about for the last year or two since these things came out. I can say, this is the first time I have seen someone actually use their Ace Rock Rails... And they actually held up.

What front sway bar 😈
I just buy a superchip f5 but it show me a issue it said vehicle not supported because i have a 2008 3.8.. is not a pentastar... So what can i use for my 3.8..?? Thanks
Stock suspension?
the shorter and best demonstration i've seen in a single video
Those 3.8s were ultra reliable.
I know this is 10 years old but I’m here so someone else may be. I measured .006 at the ring gear but my drive shaft seems to have waaaaay more. Also noticed after I installed an Eaton true track. Thinks it’s safe to say mechanical lockers add more “lash” to the driveshaft.
I hate the flat look, so I left about an inch of the side. Looks way way wayyy better.
Looks good. Looks like you are running high tire pressure though... lower it an you will get better grip.
This is an appropriate use. The terrain is relatively flat (his vehicle remains flat when it's disconnected ) and the risk of roll from jacking is greater than the risk of roll from a sharp turn. As soon as it's not needed, if you have an electronic system, re connect ... If you're going more than 15mph I would also say you don't need it disconnected although it can smooth the ride. The problem is , the price of the smooth ride becomes high if an animal runs out in front of you and you swerve at 20-30mph+ with your sway bar disconnected... Big problems ... You'll be shiny side down ...
Ugh Rubicons. "Yeah I am I pushed the button in think". Congrats on your 20k upgrade model
Its electrónic?
learn to drive
the 3.6 has more power, but it sounds nowhere near as nice as the 3.8.
Nice. Gotta get some action shots of these on my Jeep Gladiator. ua-cam.com/video/34e2DXWmnco/v-deo.html #jtrspartacus
CV Joint bearings. Probably need an aftermarket rear driveshaft.
looks as if you have a locker in the rear axle, my Yukon Grizzly lockers have that much backlash.
and is it normal?
It sounds alittle beefy
Is the spotter wearing tights? Wth.
Huge diff, looks beautiful went flexing, I own a TJ but I have a quick disconnect sway bar
Way cool, badass rigs. -Much love from Ohio.
Wow
You can just hear that cheap Jeep breaking
Awwww, the lovely sound of stock fenders being ripped off haha!
Chris Mak I was gonna type exactly the same lol .... that sound 😖
They say they're made to rip so they don't bend the body... But who really knows
Hold your phone horizontal instead of vertical when making a video. Looks better that way.
this is only a 3 inch lift....see how much stuff you have to change out for a lift......most don't do it and they blame the manufacturer of the truck company and say it's a junk truck when in reality they all make good trucks you just destroyed it
did you run it east to west, or west to east? which way is most common i'm going this Saturday, this is the last trail on my big bear bucket list, thanks,
Disconnect your sway bars for any off roading under like 25 mph (almost all offroading). But definitely remember to keep them connected on-road, because highway driving with disconnected sway bars is super sketchy and you're WAY more likely to roll the truck.
Truck?
@@MrJoshcc600 Is it a car?
Yes. Basically if you can't swerve really hard without worrying about rolling (would have to be a low speed to pass that litmus)... It needs to be connected.
Sorry, jeep rubicon manual says reconnect before exceeding 18 mph. And not reconnecting then hopping on the highway according to the operator manual can result in complete loss of vehicle control but it really means a death wobble can begin from hitting just a small bump in the road that can roll over the vehicle via an uncontrollable oscillating rocking, front sway bars are very important for road driving especially on the front wheels since the engine puts a good bit of weight down on those. I have seen people hit the highway with the rear disconnected but the rear has a lot less weight but if you are smart you will always drive on roads with connected sway bars
you had the clunk happening too?
is the rubicon the only wrangler that has disconnect. can all wranglers be disconnected if done manually? i know that would only be for off road when done because it would be a rollover job if driven on pavement
It's the cv stile driveshaft need to go had same problem went with a custome one since I do rock crawling and have a 6in rock crawler lift
Might help if o/drive wasn’t switched off
For mom
what suspension is banned1 jeep running??
WTF is that creaking?
whatSongIsThis? sounds like he's rubbing his tires on the inner fender
Thats what you get with a lift kit, offroad tyres and **Stock fenders** , squeaking paradise 😂
this is why you get out and assess the road first before attempting and move the bolders/ rocks in front of you to gain more contact.
we did this in a 1966 volkswagon bug, converted to off road. much less effort, and more fun!
camera guy sounds like a soccer mom" perfect Cody you got our support, that was super omg", lmao
nice mall crawlers pussies
besides the silver two door ill give that guy some credit thats a rig but still aint got a scratch on that shit but its a rig lol
Gold Mtn. should be a pleasant run with no spotters. You guys are killing the fun.
I'd like to hear about one of these guys self extracting. Don't know if it's possible.
Automatic milkers.
Obviously Mr Giggle's smoked a bowl in between removing the doors and finishing his rock crawl.
nice
beast 👍💪
What model emu shocks did you put
what "jeep" ??
Your about to make 23000 miles if you went one more mile
Dylan Verkler if you look at the odometer at the beginning of the video he was actually above 23000. Then went back under for some reason haha
Mine does the same noise at times i lifted my jk 4" and 35 does anyone know how to fix that pronlem
What lift and size tire are you running?
I have a Suzuki Sidekick and have taken the 2N49 from Palm Ave to Silverwood, then found the Pilot Rock Trailhead and took Dark Canyon Road to Crestline. I'm wondering if I have to use Dishpan Springs to get to Big Bear in my Sidekick or would I need a detour? Not sure my sidekick can make it?
