I also knew I had German ancestors from the stories from my grandmother traced back to Bern Switzerland and parts of Germany and Dutch ancestors.Yet going that far back I only pulled 2% ? Then I first pulled 4% French but that was dropped in an update. I traced one to Bern Switzerland and then another to Rotterdam and Holland. I have ancestors that fought in both WWI and WWII.

French and German dna is the hardest for these companies to decipher...most of the french people i ve seen get english, iberian, irish and anything but french...

I am currently waiting on my test kit to arrive. It will be interesting to see the results that's for sure .

Yes people moved around a lot back then in history.I grew up listening to the war stories as my Grandpa on my dads side is a WWI vet but he has since passed away .He lived to the age of 85.

I have done Ancestry awhile back and now I am getting ready to do Living DNA for the British Isles breakdown of areas more and the mother line . I was not shocked at my results either it fit the stories I knew from my grandmother and grandpa as well as some great grandparents .

I did not stated, that north africans would be black. There were rumours about blacks in the family and southern Spain played a big role in slave trade, those were my statements.

North africans are all 20% nilotic (south sudan) though when you break down there dna and 80% eurasian dna from neolithic (last age) they never left africa neither did any of the invasions change the natives dna to much. Its also false to say that they are arabs or european because they don't carry any haplogroup related to those regions but actually still retain east african haplogroup thats the most ancient on the planet, you saying that just reinforces the stereotype that there not native africans but invaders.

Danke! Aber den eigentlichen Aufwand hatte meine Mutter. Sie macht seit 18 Jahren Ahnenforschung in 4 verschiedenen Ländern und Sprachen. Auf ancestry führt sie einen digitalen Stammbaum mit inzwischen über 3.000 Ahnen. Ich selbst habe nur 3x in ein Röhrchen gespuckt.
