    I’m using the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires. I really like them. I get about 15,000km out of the rear and 19,000km out of the front. I don’t notice any road noise. My next set of tires will be the Motaz Tractionator GPS tires. A bit more aggressive of a tread. They’re a 70/30 tire. I’ll be using them to head to Dawson City and then to Tuktoyaktuk

      @@highmilagerider1154 i took it to a garage, the owner (a 60 yr old mechanic who owned a goldwing himself) removed the panels and actually changed the bulbs for the led ones and showed me the lack of relays, we both watched your video btw, there was definitely no relays where it showed on your video, having said that, the cornering lights have never worked since i have owned it, maybe the previous owner did something and removed the relays for some reason, that all i can think of. it'just typical really, that my goldwing is probably the only goldwing 1500 that doesn't have those relays. thanks for replying

    I got the Roadmaster i disagree it was the best riding bike and the best bike by far. The worst was the Harley this bike the Kawasaki was a close second ride was nice but it had to much plastic and unlike the Roadmaster it was thin plastic the Roadmaster has much nicer build quality.

    • @highmilagerider1154
      @highmilagerider1154 5 днів тому

      Roadmaster is definitely a nicer bike compared to the Voyager....however it also starts at $41,449 before freight/PDI and tax whereas you can buy a new Voyager for $21,000 out the door in Canada. So for double the money or an extra $25,000 to me its just not worth it. I'd take the Voyager all day. But that's me. I don't believe any motorcycle is worth $45,000 or more

But, they only agreed to fix the zippers under warranty, the jacket material coming apart they said was my fault I must have snagged it on something so they wouldn’t do anything about it. The jacket was only 2 months old. Very poor build quality considering their jackets cost up to 400% mort then everyone else’s jackets do. Heck, I have a HWK motorcycle jacket that I got off Amazon for $48 that I have had for 4 years and ridden more then 140,000 km’s in and had nothing go wrong with it. I also use a puff jacket by Klim for internal Warmth. I replaced all the CE level 1 with CE level 2. I use Bohn Body armor for the legs, which includes armor in the knees, hips, shins, thighs, and coccyx. The Bohn Armor is fantastic! I am getting 4.1l per 100km @ 100-120kph without saddle bags and 4.5l per 100kms with them on, only run high test fuel. For me my mileage suffers by about .7l with regular fuel. Super comfortable on long trips, always look forward to riding it the next day. Longhaul Paul has put over 300, 000 miles on his. WOW. The Goldwing members on the forums I belong to refer to it as a rear differential final drive, so I did as well. This is my first Goldwing :) I realize now that they were likely using a "slang" term. Upon further investigation I see that it is actually a five pin drive flange. The shaft splines mate with the final drive pinion joint. The pinion joint acts like a pump circulating the hypoid oil into the cup, lubricating the pinion joint and the drive shaft. Sorry for the confusion

    2:30 - The D3O Ghost armor in the Marrakesh is Level 1. It can be upgraded to a quality Level 2 armor without sacrificing much flexibility or comfort. I can't even feel the Level 1 D3O Ghost armor. It feels like I'm wearing a light jacket, and not a motorcycle jacket. The AA rating is abrasion resistance, and it's impressive for such a lightweight, comfortable and breathable jacket. I just bought a Marrakesh jacket and love it. It was significantly more expensive than my old Joe Rocket riding jacket or the cheap mesh jacket that I bought to test the concept, but it's easy to see where the extra money went. The Marrakesh oozes quality. The fit is excellent (sizing runs a bit on the large side, even by portly US standards) and there is incredible attention to detail in this highly engineered technical garment. A proper layering system extends the summer Marrakesh for all seasons and all weather conditions. I'll use my yellow DuPont seam sealed Tyvek coveralls as an ultralight rain suit for riding in rain or whenever I need the ultimate wind protection in cold damp conditions. I have a polyester pile jacket that I use in cool weather instead of a down puffy jacket. It's good to wear off the bike as well. Down is lighter and packs much smaller but pile is more durable, and it's warmer when wet. I need to get a lightweight windbreaker jacket for cooler riding when I don't want mesh breathability. I may get the Klim Zephyr. Like the Marrakesh jacket, it's a bit pricey, but buying quality only hurts once. It's probably worth the difference in price to have a durable high quality Klim shell that fits properly and works well. For very cold conditions, I also have an ultralight heated vest that I made from two car seat heaters. They use carbon fiber as the resistive heating elements.

    230k kilometers. God that's cool. Nobody rides as much as goldwing owners

      I also have a 4 year old Super Tenere ES that has 100,000km on it so far. If I keep it for another 23 years (same age as the Goldwing) I'll have about 550,000km on it :) Ride safe

    Where can I get some the special tool? I’m looking for: Proggsive 412 series for a Honda Goldwing, any ideas?

      I ordered my progressive shocks off Fort nine. They came with the tool. They might also carry the tool on it's own? I'd check on ebay Good luck

    An that leather he so proudly "reconditioned" is actually Vinyl plastic. Especially the map pocket cover thing. I did most of this for my 96 SE myself so I understand the passion

    Thanks for the video! I thought only one side is supposed to be lit, but after changing them both, it turns out that both come on together, whether dimmed or brights! Way better now!

      That is correct. Both are on for low beam, when you hit the hi beam switch all it does is change the optics to give you the hi beam

      Goldwing riders have asked me to give a detailed explanation when doing stuff on the bike so they will know exactly how to do it. If you don't like the videos, don't watch Ride safe

    Thanks for your solid review. Did you buy the Voyager? How does it perform on mountain passes?
