Don Stephenson was an amazing drummer. I saw them live when they were touring ‘69. His kit was all welded together, cymbal stands and all of it. They took it out of a huge case and just set the whole thing in place. I had never seen anything like that and still haven’t. Don’s shuffle style is way harder to emulate than you might think. He was extraordinary. This band had the most beautiful array of talent. All of them together was a perfect combination. While it was a tragedy when Skip left, the band still had its soul intact. There are still many amazing songs to find on their subsequent albums and solo albums.

I love Peter Lewis’s songs. “He” is a real standout on this record. I love the format you have going here. It’s beautiful! This album deserves a lot more recognition and appreciation. It’s a masterpiece and one of the great records of 1967 that still fascinates and amazes. 🍇🍇🍇👑🍇🍇🍇

Thanks for putting this up in such a simple, psychedelic way. This is a superb album and it deserves to be recognized as such. Bob Mosley said it was a masterpiece and he’s right. Stunning album and extraordinary production and performances. The cover art is amongst my favorites of all time. I bought this when it was originally released and I’ve loved it ever since. Their last two Columbia albums also had some excellent tracks on them. This is a band to discover and dig deep.

what i always loved about Leo was the crazy proggy element to his work. it would manifest as odd time signatures and chopped up rhythms. In the early 70’s, promoters would frequently have Leo open for prog bands - i saw him open for Gentle Giant and Shakti another time. He went over huge with proggy audiences. Love Leo!!!

I think Rusty is a great female comedian my parents played the record for me about twenty years ago and it was very funny we all were laughing very hard out stomach's had cramps it was fantastic !!

It is hard to hear a lot of what he is saying. My husband heard this as a kid LONG ago, on actual records.

My sister and I used to do the same thing. I was talking about this the other day to somebody and saying how I remembered all those songs from way back when and how my mom had this record. I looked it up and sure enough I remembered almost all of the songs that were on the album. Good times!
