Is the bearing built in the propshaft?
@@ryangeorge7062 yes it’s unserviceable.
Thompson Mary Davis Lisa Lopez Jose
I get an odd vibration underneath the car at about 5.5k to 6.5k rpms. Can this be the issue of that ?
If it's only related to rpm then it can't be the driveshaft. I'd look at exhaust first, then possibly engine/trans.
Wanted to see the one you did not show😳
Hello, I have a4 b9 2.0 DETA, can I have a link to purchase?
Here are the ones for the B9 models: www.jxbperformance.com/products?tag=B9%2CSpare%20Parts
So will this ultimately reinforce the driveshaft to prevent , twisting/breaking in the long run, or will I still need to build/upgrade the driveshaft for track use in the end? trying to see if it makes sense to get braces everywhere for cheaper instead of 2k for whole new shaft.
The primary long-term effect of this will be to save the center CV joint by maintaining driveshaft alignment under all conditions. It won't drastically increase the driveshaft's ability to handle peak loads.
Does this make your driveshaft unbalanced?
Looks amazing. Any NVH?
Not really! It's basically the same as adding standard differential inserts, which aren't known for adding much of anything.
At last, something that makes sense and saves a lot of cents, great video and an exceptional product! I like!

is it normal to smell burning after the first drive after installing? 😂
No. Likely just means you got the bushing a bit too close to the moving part of the driveshaft. It'll self-clearance itself pretty quick so not a big deal really. Plenty of bushing left to keep a hold on the bearing.
@@JXBPerformance ok cool, btw you guys are life savers by making it split in half. it was gonna be a nightmare trying to get my driveshaft rebalanced here in chicago haha

great video, great part. saved me a bundle dealer wanted 1700.00 to replace the driveshaft. For the people who complain about the cost, ask your lawyer why products are so expensive.
would i still be using the oem length rod even if i saw the 2 lines and have push to start issues?
If you still have the push to start issue, you can use a loner rod. That said, if you get to the longest rod and still have the issue, then with 100% certainty your issue lies elsewhere. Generally it means you've slightly dislodged the start sensor from the side of the master cylinder during the install of a stainless clutch line at the same time. There is an easy procedure to check if your issue lies in rod length or elsewhere: - take the slave out of the transmission and hold it fully compressed by hand - have someone push the clutch pedal exactly once and try to start the car - if it starts, you need a longer slave rod. If it doesn't start, your issue is elsewhere
what tool are you using to cut the metal. looks like a small power tool
It's called a "body saw" or an "air reciprocating saw". It's made by Ingersoll Rand.
I used a dremal with a small cut off wheel my driveshaft had absolutely no rubber left . My kit comes in tomorrow hoping the bearing isn't fried
How much hp can these handle for a hellcat like if i go full bolt ons will this be okay
There is no limit on power that these can handle. They take very little load since they only have to keep the driveshaft centered; it's the rest of the driveshaft that will be the weakest link.
It’s the constant “ummm” that made me stop watching.
Sorry best I can do for an hour unrehearsed lol.
@@JXBPerformance 😂😂😂
Did u leave a little bit of rubber on there or did u clean the entire thing off.
You leave the entire base layer of molded-on rubber intact.
Is there still a chance to use this upgrade if the bushing is completely seperated from the bearing? Bearing and the rubber of the original bushing is still fine only thing is it dont hold together anymore. As i understood in the Video you have to leave a "baser layer" of rubber on the bearing while cutting it out
Yes, you can still use it. You simply wrap duct tape or electrical tape directly around the metal bearing until you get it back to the diameter that the rubber would have been at, then our bushings will directly clamp around the tape. The diameter you're shooting for on this application is 62 mm.
@JBXperformance - I have a 2014 JGC Laredo 2WD. how do you confirm that the carrier bushing is the cause of the rhythmic clunking noise? I went under the car and there is a fair amount of play in the driveshaft at the original carrier bushing - should the driveshaft be pretty tight in the bushing without any play?
If the rubber has sagged substantially or is torn, that's an indicator it's the cause. These CV joints do not spin smoothly when they are not in perfect alignment, so when the bearing sits towards the bottom of the frame it causes the driveshaft to vibrate due to the roughness of the CV joint.

Is the the same way for the s550 mustang ?

Does anyone know where the control module is on a c7.5 with air suspension as it’s not beside the battery ?
Is this with the street or track bushings?
Track
Is this carrier heat resistant?
Yes, we use hi-temp silicone for the bushings to withstand exhaust heat better than rubber/poly.
So install a new carrier rubber over a worn out carrier rubber and worn out carrier bearing for almost the same price as a brand new 2 piece driveshaft with new u-joints and new carrier bearing assembly, got it.
Lot of folks actually install these over new driveshafts if they're concerned about the rest of the shaft. Gives you best of both worlds. Generally speaking though the bearings outlast the rest of the driveshaft, so there's not a point replacing them if they're still good. It's just the rubber that goes bad.
I just installed mines on my 2012 WK2 a few hrs ago. It took longer just to prep the Jeep on the lift then the install. Thank you JXBPerformance. I recommend this product. Oh, thank you for the stickers. Looks good on my tool chest.
super informative! Something else for me to upgrade when I change out the OEM clutch line to a braided one.
So if your bearing is bad you need an entire driveshaft, but if the rubber is worn, this will fix it, right?
That's correct. Generally the bearings aren't the weak point, it's just the rubber that cracks/sags/fails over time.
Going to guess you'll me making some drive shaft parts for the new rig lol. Just subbed to channel. I have a 2013 vw passat sel tdi and unfortunately you don't have any parts for my car on your channel but there's probably some stuff that you could make for my car that are relatively simple upgrades I have only found a few companies that make anything for my car but right now I'm looking for someone that deletes the sub frame mount bushing and just makes a solid mount setup and there's a couple companies but they all name the kit as something different and now I can't find their sites lol. But pretty much when I hit the brakes to come to a dead stop my sub frame and everything stops about a half inch to full inch before the body of my car does and then the opposite when I accelerate. But the OEM replacement through the stealershit/dealershit/dealership is over 2500$ installed and it's a pain to do but the companies that have the solid mount for that problem just uses the chassis stiffener bars to connect the sub frame to the body and I can find the kit for every audi/vw except for mine probably since my car is meant more for the "luxury" stuff and not so much the stiff ride part. Then finding the poly control arm bushings are next since mine are pretty much nonexistent from the movement in the sub frame. I would definitely let you use my car as a test dummy for stuff like that but unfortunately I live in Las Vegas and I'm broke a shit right now and more focused on getting my AC fixed since some dummy decided to run freon with sealant through my ac system so now I only can drive my car at night and I can't stop moving or else it blow out hot air..
