    • @generaldreamsoutdoors43
      @generaldreamsoutdoors43 4 місяці тому

      @OC-OUTDOORS 2100 to 2300lbs depending on accessories and tools in the machine. The rack I have not weighed, but I would guess it is around 500 pounds. With the rack and the general in the truck It feels lighter. (Seat of the pants filling) Then, when I have my slide in truck, camper on the truck. I would guess a 250 would be pushing the limits on the weight. When finances allow, I would like to upgrade to a daully if nothing else for the fact that you have two tires on each side.In case there's a blowout, you still have a tire to hold the load.

    • @OC-OUTDOORS
      @OC-OUTDOORS 4 місяці тому

      @generaldreamsoutdoors43 Thanks for the feedback! I have a rzr 4seat so probably a little less weight than the general but I think I'd be maxing out the 250. I currently have a slide in camper but it's a pop top so way less weight but the family has grown recently so have to do something for next season. The wife refuses to let me get a dually so I may be stuck going the toy hauler route!

    • @generaldreamsoutdoors43
      @generaldreamsoutdoors43 4 місяці тому

      @OC-OUTDOORS Be sure to get a toy hauler, big enough for your machine. I had to take some of the stuff out of mine to get my general to fit inside it. And I didn't like doing it, so I made the rack to carry it that way now, instead of putting it in the trailer.

    I tried to change the oil and my shoulders are all screwed up & had an operation on my wrist, and so my hand strength is not what it should be because of logging injuries. The harder I tried to do this the more pissed off I got because I can’t believe they would stick that air filter in such awkward place! I never could get the damn filter off! So I’ll have to take it or I bought it and have them do it. I’m just gonna put new oil in it and run it for a few days and take it into them and have them do the damn thing!

    I have the same problem with my General.....tried everything, but nothing worked, as much as I hated, I took it to our dealer and found out a sad truth about valve adjustment......As mentioned, there is no simple adjustment other than different sized shims. So, anyway $1300 later, I'm still cranking over and over before it will fire or start. I did end up buying a Yamaha Rmax ( which I love) and just use the General around the farm, iffin' I can get it to start !!!!!

    • @bradstanke442
      @bradstanke442 5 місяців тому

      What happens over time is the intake valve seats wear (especially if you run allot of dust) then the intake valve starts pushing up in the head more and it bottoms out on the cam that sits above it. The can't be adjusted but rather the shims need to be changed for smaller shims to allow the valve to close all the way again. It will start fine if warm, cold is when it won't. Low compression when cold because intake valves are slightly open 😔 Its important to keep a clean air filter, I also run outerwears prefilter.

    • @generaldreamsoutdoors43
      @generaldreamsoutdoors43 5 місяців тому

      Thank you for the information. I have always kept the air filter clean. So, are the seats going to damage the cam? Or after the valves get new shims is there no need to worry about things after that.

    • @bradstanke442
      @bradstanke442 5 місяців тому

      @@generaldreamsoutdoors43 no there will be no damage that I've heard. Plus it doesn't bottom out on the lobe of the cam just in between. I would think it won't start at all before you ever damage a cam. You could do a compression test when it's cold and see what it's at. Other thought is fuel pump but then it would do it cold or warm. You could also check fuel pressure.
