Affordable 28mm Vintage Lens For EF Mount - Vivitar f/2.5 BMPCC4K
Here is an affordable option to a fairly fast and very affordable 28mm Lens from the 1970's. I'm already falling in love with vintage lenses and have another classic on the way :)

Warning there are representations of suicide. This is a one take short film written and shot by myself. It was a very heavy story to tell so check it out and tell me what you think. I will be doing a behind the scenes breakdown of lighting and camera. Contact: loganbrescia@gmail.com

here is a small breakdown of myself making a matte painting with a drone clip I got at UCSC. Enjoy!
It was the skateboards fault!?
Thanks for this video--really lovely work. I'm here because I found a copy of this lens, for Minolta mount, at my local camera shop--in the $10 lens bin. I picked it up and could immediately tell that the build quality (mine has the metal focusing ring) was superb--someone really, really cared to make the best lens they could at an affordable price back then--and Vivitar marketed some superbly capable lenses back in the day (many versions of this lens, as was mine, were actually made by Kiron). I really got the lens for free--the store was super rammed with customers that day, and when I got up to the counter, the owner--who was also trying to serve someone else who was looking at some crappy digicam--told me, "Ehhh, go ahead and take it, next time you're in just pop us the ten bucks." At that price, and given what I could feel of it, I was well happy. (And yeah, he did that because I've bought shit-tons of stuff from them over the years, and will be happily spending the majority of future paychecks with them.) I'm still waiting for my first roll of film to come back from it. Do I expect it to be tack sharp, corner to corner? Hell no. Is it built like the proverbial brick shithouse? Hell yes! Do I expect it to have tons of character and to convey a "feel" that I'd love my photos to have? You betcha! You can argue MTF charts all you want, and debate the falloff in sharpness in the zonal areas. Fuck all that. Cameras, and lenses, are like guitars--it's all about the *feel* they give you. As the maker of this video demonstrates, if you know what you're doing, you can make this "crappy", stupid cheap, "ancient" lens sing for you.
If I'm allowed to ask, May you teach me how to shoot my own short films?
Wow! Your creativity is amazing! Who composed the music for this short film?
I don't get it either.
Great review! I‘m just a little confused with regards to the mount! Why did you mention that it‘s easy to adapt to an EF Mount? I thought you were shooting on the Pocket 4K (M43 Mount)? And, if it‘s okay, could you also disclose the first digits of the serial number? Does it start with 22…?
Great documental style footage, very pleasing image quality. I use this lens with a Canon C300 MK I and it is a fantastic combo
The cinematography is top-notch.. Are there any interesting behind-the-scenes stories you'd like to share?
ahahah I love this!
This video alone has convinced me to get this lens.
Great work!
A really lovely video and review. How much work in post was needed?
This is a beautifully crafted review. Also, your color grade is so tasteful, and those interior shots at around 2:38 look so good.
the sound design is so good!
I love this! this is hilarious the thought that came to mind was "see this is why i dont go outside" lmao
came here for interval because i'm streaming for TREASURES BONA BONA but is a nice video!
not that good
Oops~ No matter what you do, the twisting day makes it difficult~ I hope the character will gain strength ^^
Which camera you used?
where in the world do you buy these? can't find on aliexpress or amazon.
Song name?
Hii friend. Its a radioactive lens ?
but what was the lens on the way???
awsum
What adapter do I need ?
Can I reuse the video for my Indie song
Wowww good mix ! i love the result !
That door, instead of leaving it open like that, you could've utilized it to be another visual element. However, really like the short film.
hey, I meant to ask a long time ago... when are you going to make more of anything, please.. but also lens reviews?
Not sure I get the change of clothes...
Interesting I have a Bushnell branded 28mm 2.8 for Minolta MD mount. It's super soft wide open and it also has a ridiculously long focus throw. I'm wondering if its actually the same lens or similar.
that made me laugh, great film
Dude, you just gotta do more of these videos, so awesome and authentic ! love it!
After your review I buy same lens and try to use it with viltrox 0.71 on bmpcc 4k but i don't have infinity.. how can i fix it?
You have to rotate the Viltrox lens in the adapter. To do this, dismantle, adjust/rotate, attach and see if the close-up limit of your lenses then fits. If not correct again.
this review has a sort of experimental/documentary feel that I really like it
Wow. Jikjin?
This is cool
Wow
This is nice
cool!
Cinematic ✨
what?
Wow nice video!
Which song used?
Plz someone explain what was this all about?
So nice!
How did you grade this???
Man, what a beautiful lens! It has such an organic feel, love the sides. So much depth. Reminds me of Lomo anamorphics.
Could you make a 30 second short file? I just do not have time to watch a full minute!
You must be the busiest man on Earth 😂😂🤣
ah dude, great video. got all the feels lol
