Australian must be aware of this ideas God forvid anything happen in Australia.This idea reminds me spain 2010 when the politics came up with this idea of opressing the imvestors. As a result the rent of a house become very difficult and destroyed the market. Now days the investors are not protected and criminals are breaking the doors get into the apartments when the owners are in holidays or in hospital. The police no have the authority to take them out of the property 😢 "ocupas en España"

I feel that people will just AirBnB it until the new lease is almost ready to increase then rent and only then add the property back into the long-term rental market.

Will this rental increase locked in with the property cause a ton more FOMO for the tenant as landlords will be more inclined to pull the property off the market and just let it sit for a couple of months maybe?
