The planner I'm using is actually the Erin Condren Monthly Planner - not specifically for budgeting but it has a monthly spread with notes pages for each month and I like that I can customize it with stickers so I turned it into my "budget planner". I have had actual budget planners before but I felt like I never needed everything that was in those so I was wasting a lot of pages. I also have an EC petite notebook that I'm using for my Etsy business to record my expenses, income each month, quarterly taxes, etc. so that is all in one place. I switch up how I keep track of that quite often though.

I had to start paying quarterly estimated taxes a couple of years ago to the IRS, I didn't need to when I first started my shop. I think you need to start paying them if you owe more than $1,000 when you file your federal tax return but I could be wrong about that number, you can check with a tax agency to confirm. I found a tax agency that is very helpful near me and they helped me figure out how much I should be paying each quarter based on previous years. I ended up having to prepay for my city taxes also but that varies depending on where you live. I hope that helps!

I'm glad you have been liking my stickers 😊 Are you talking about a sticker set like the budget or paychecks with a Cash Envelope header, then a thin header with columns like Category, Beginning, +, -, End, and then a footer strip? I can do something like that, or let me know if you had something else in mind.

@@kayceeleigh im not sure if this will make any sense but here it goes lol on your budget page there is a space under the fixed expenses. im looking for a small header and the beginning,+,-, ending for cash envelopes to go in that spot.

I use mostly Erin Condren dual-tip markers in my budget planner! They have a lot of different colored markers and I like how they write in the planners 😀

I don't know much about waterproofing stickers. You can get water resistant sticker paper (Online Labels sells some) but they still aren't completely waterproof.

Hello! I would use the Weekly Check-in to keep track of all the categories and how much is left in each for the month. You could keep track of your expenses in two ways, one is using the transaction log, you could even assign each category a color and put a color dot next to the description to easily see what category that expense will belong to. Then each week go through the transaction log and total the categories up for the weekly check-in. Or you could keep track of expenses on the monthly layout page, just write each expense and amount in the monthly boxes. You could color code that too with markers or expense tracker stickers then total that each week in the weekly check-in. I’ve thought about changing the Transaction Log “Balance” column to “Total”, that’s more how I use it, as a total for everything I spent for the month, but I know a lot of people like it how it is so I wasn’t sure if I should change it. I keep a more loose budget now and I made the decision to include anything I buy at the grocery store as “Food/Groceries”. I usually buy most household products at a separate time so I include that in a “Household” category but if I go to get groceries and I need something random I just let it go in the “Food/Groceries” category. It just seemed like a pain to remember to separate things out if they were on the same receipt so unless it is a big expense I just put it all in that one category. I spread out my holiday spending from October-December so I don’t do it all in one month. I have my Christmas Gift List tracker in my planner the whole year and make notes of presents I could buy throughout the year. Then I only have to budget extra for gifts for those three months and that’s all I need to be able to buy what I want. Making a holiday sinking fund is also useful because then you have the money in there when you need it and you don’t need to spend anything extra toward the end of the year because you’ve been saving a little each month. Hopefully some of that helped! Everyone budgets so differently and I’ve changed how I do things throughout the years.
