I Have a situation that requires your help: Scale damaging my shipping pump mechanical seal every 2 months...can't find effective solution. In fact, we find loads of sediments on the suction filters of the pump which the lab results indicate to be scales. For over 6 months we have been injecting anti-scale (IDOS) in our Wells, but so far no good results....need help. I'm a field Engineer!

Sebastian could I email you a spread sheet to look at, I would like to know if there is a way to input the formula that will calculate in kPa. The sheet is not as accurate as I would like using only 1kPa per meter, I believe this is not great as the gas gradient would change pending pressure.

Is there a calculation if there is a packer ?

On my gas / oil well I do not have a packing, I do have two valves at the surface that control casing and tubing pressure. I don’t know how to set them. The old man that used to run the well set one around 80 psi and another around 50psi. I’m not sure which was which. The transmission line to the gas/oil separator has a few check valves along the way and there is a reverse valve before the separator. He never set it before he passed. My oil production is from a pump jack driven by a Fairbanks-Morse 208 H&M. All piping is 2”. There are gauges everywhere so that helps. In the past I know he made about a barrel and a quarter every few days with minimal water. Is there anyway you could help or maybe provide a one line diagram with pressures shown… maybe some calculations? I’m an engineer trying to produce oil for my father’s retirement funds.
