    Is the handmade handles just to give you more range for a greater degree of control? I'm looking to build a small puppet with cable controls like this but I was just going to use the stock bike brake handles. Always great to get a look at others' work process and ideas :)

      I haven't tried brake handles but the advantage here is that you can place the hinge higher or lower to get different degrees of leverage. However, this is just a basic overview. I would encourage anyone to experiment with variations.

    Disney is a perfect example to snapshot with your argument. They hire so many untalented people to fill pandering boxes while firing their long-term talent. This is fact, it happened. To no surprise to anyone with awareness of that market the majority of films and shows released by Disney in the last couple years are almost unwatchable and without any value long-term especially with memories of those seeing them. Stuck with many untalented people that if they fire may bite their fake image because those, they hired are crusaders ready to yell for causes, their employers look to alternative measures and then those hack employees yell AI is a bad guy to preserve whatever untenable future they have due to their lack of talent. It's a vicious cycle and it only perpetuates itself until implosion and we are seeing the signs of that implosion in Hollywood today. I've never used AI, but I remember when computers came out and many bemoaned adapting to that tool. Typewriters with constant corrections and retyped pages are gone. I'm sure someone fought changing to computers back in the 80's too. Today AI is the next evolution. You are right that it will never be able to deliver a story pointing to the human condition completely as it's not human, but it certainly can make it easy for creators to create such human stories. I prefer human creation fully but that's not to say I'm not open to the possibility like most. In the end Hollywood has shown in the last 7 or so years that they desperately need boogeymen to hide their faults. In 2016 it was the orange man, then it was toxic masculinity, then it was toxic fans and manbabies. Today it is AI. Anyone linked with guilds and studios have to tow the line or be labeled and it is so depressing to see the Hollywood I admired since 1975 fall the way of my beloved video stores and Toys R Us. It's coming because clearly, they can't admit weaknesses and adapt, thus pointing the fingers and labeling groups or AI to seem righteous. Enjoyed your vid. Love the topic.

    Its not AI, its LLM (Large Language Model) and its nothing more than a spreadsheet/database with a fancy filter. The problem with this fake AI is that when the real AI does someday come along we wont even know it

    • @christophermoonlightproduction
      @christophermoonlightproduction 2 місяці тому

      I tend to avoid the debates over definition because this is the shorthand the public at large is familiar with. I'm not sure what you mean by a spreadsheet, though. LLMs don't store contents. They depend on predictive text or images based on pattern recognition. As far as "real" AI, I'm not concerned about it. There are so many barriers to us getting anywhere close to something like that before reality catches up with the venture capital hype bate.

    As a youtuber my channel was created in response to the depression of Hollywood quality. For years I remember people from all walks of life celebrating and debating films for decades. We wanted to share our views and thoughts and even when I managed video stores customers would walk in and talk about films whether pro or con around the counters and shelves. Today we are in a choose-a-side culture and whatever camp you choose expect flak. Hollywood has encouraged this kind of group mentality much like our media and politicians and because of that they are fundamentally damaging themselves and film debate. Thus, my channel erupted from that divisiveness because I wanted a positive debate rather than contempt for those that agree or disagree with me. I think, until Hollywood learns that fundamental understanding about film discussion it will continue to spiral out of control and malign their audiences. I hope it will return, but they are really burning a lot of bridges and theater ticket sales show this fact. Many in our society need to learn communication skills that at least, on the surface level show tolerance. In the end, UA-cam encourages communication a heck of a lot better than Hollywood, thus I see this as the reason it is growing in influence.

      There is an emotional element to markets beyond basic needs. If something excites people, fulfills them in some way, then eventually they gravitate towards them. Sometimes it takes more time than you'd think but it does happen.

    It's not new. Indie filmmakers have been doing this for years.. In fact many old B movie producers had to do this in the 50, 60s and 70s Filmmakers can do individual deals with theater owners and chains. In fact, I've known at least a couple of filmmakers who did four walling and individual deals. I don't know if directors can learn this in 3 day courses or other classes . No idea. It's old hat and boilerplate to me. So if you want to get your film screened and you can't get a distributor, do it old fashioned way

    • @christophermoonlightproduction

      I work as a graphic designer for one of the biggest corporations in the world with a team of eight of us. I'm also using AI tools regularly and yes, there are big changes happening but if we look back in history, nothing was as it is now and we can't expect what we do to always stay the same. We can not do anything about that any more than we can stop the wind or calm the ocean. However, we can think about how we'll adapt, and in that, I think there will always be a place for human integrity and creativity. We wouldn't want to keep repeating the same things over and over again, anyway, would we? I appreciate you considering my response and yes, Fire and Ice does indeed rule.
