I first heard about this breathtaking place from a close friend who visited and couldn't stop raving about it. His stories sparked my curiosity, and when I did some research, I discovered that Chitkul is India’s last village on the Indo-China border. That’s when I became even more fascinated - how do the locals live so close to such a sensitive international border, especially with a neighbor like China?
This year, I finally got the opportunity to visit Chitkul myself and experience life in this remote village firsthand. In this video, I’ll take you on a journey to explore the unique lives of the people who call this border village home. From the challenges they face to the culture they’ve preserved, I’m excited to share their incredible story and the resilience that defines life at the edge of India.
