I used to use professional products. Have a license to get it about 4 months ago I went back to drug Store I’m using silicone and sulfate clarifying shampoo. My hair has never been better. It’s driving it strong and of course it’s a scare tactic to have us not use that.

Wait. If she naturally had long hair all of her life, then how is this a video about how to grow short hair to long. It sounds like her hair would be long regardless…The tips sounded good enough but it was nothing groundbreaking. Not sure if simply mostly washing, deep conditioning, and oiling as she suggests will magically make the average person’s hair grow long.

Great video - thanks for being REAL. I actually follow the same steps - salon products - do my own hair - dust my own ends - I also have length. The oiling the scalp portion - I’ll fall back on - and the coming the mids to ends - brilliant - verses snagging my puffy roots! Love this ! Happy holidays !

I wax monthly. I like to do it at night after a shower. I’ll go to bed without deodorant, and apply it in the morning. I only shave if something comes up and it’s not enough hair to wax but too much to have my armpits showing.

I catch myself a lot measuring my hairs length which im going to make a concious effort to stop doing kuz its as if im reinforcing to myself (and my hair) that its not enough. My hair is thick and lovely and im just going to enjoy her at wherever shes at and focus on keeping her healthy. It sounds like you’ve just kept a simple hair routine. I went back to that as well. I realized doing team natural stuff and not using heat on my hair was destroying not only my hair, but my daughter’s hair as well. No heat for 3 years and I was horrified when I blew out my hair. Split ends galore. Same with my toddler (3 yo) when all I did was style her wet and curly since she was a baby. I remembered I had to cut my hair into a short a line bob back in 2020 when my nape was ripped out by braids that were too tight. I had no choice but to wash and press it out weekly and my hair grew back beautifully with no damage. Once I remembered that, I went back to that routine and never looked back. It’s been a year and I’ve had 2 good haircuts and consistent trims trying to get rid of split/frayed ends, and my hair is growing back nicely. I also use professional products, either Kenra or Olaplex, and I wash and flat iron my hair weekly. I don’t use anything but shampoo, conditioner, leave in and hear protectant. I deep condition and clarify when needed. I blow dry my hair on high heat and flat iron on 370. I don’t have any heat damage at all. I started blowing out my daughter’s hair before styling it as well, and her hair is also thriving. Thank you for sharing your tips!!

@@mrod87 yes I’ve seen it with other friends/family as well. My mother-in-law only does “natural” styles and I pressed her hair for her one time. It was shoulder length but she had splits all the way up to her root. Another friend of mine who’s about 23, she has long, pretty curly hair and never put heat to it. I pressed it for her one time. Her hair was to her tailbone and she had splits all the way up to her shoulders. Her hair looks fine curly so she doesn’t care to cut it.
