I am a mechanic and I am willing to help anyone who would like help. If you have any questions or if there is some content you would like to see in my videos, let me know and I will help out the best I can. Keep in mind though that what you are seeing is not always "by the book" methods. I have learned some alternative ways to get things done through my years and that is what I am showing you. Check out my Instagram page as well, at monster_98gmc, or send me an email at monster98gmc@gmail.com and I would love to see your builds as well.

What is the magical voodoo you performed to get it secured into the fender hole. Mine always seems to come back out after driving around. May just resort to ductaping it in place between filter changes.
Mine was doing that I finally gave it a good firm push and so far it has stayed in the fender. So maybe that will help you I hope.
Hey man. I recently redid my entire back differential. I’m getting a humming noise. I’m wondering if I over tightened it. What do you think
Well I didn't over tighten mine turns out it was not tight enough. I had to turn it 1 full turn and then the sound was gone. But I am not sure about yours seeing as it's a fresh rebuild.
@@duanescarpad2831 ok. I ordered a beam torque wrench to be 100 percent certain. By chance was yours humming ?
@chrismehle5716 yes it was when I let off the gas it would hum. That's why I made Parr 2 and 3 videos. To make sure I covered things. Let people know that even 30 plus year mechanic can mess up
Curious if you got the covid vaccine a couple years ago?
If it uses a crush sleeve just retighten to 125-150 ft pounds...you are not going to further crush a sleeve at that low of a torque. The torque setting of the nut has nothing to do with backlash...as long as the crush sleeve has no clearance you will have exactly the same backlash as before you began.
That is a scary situation to be in.
Fenbendazole No sugar, go low carb Bitter Apricot Kernels
Hang in there man. Greetings from Norway!
You should try alternative options such as diet change there are things like apricot seeds, soursop leaves or tea. Diet is no sugar whatsoever please Google it. Im not saying chemo or radiation is bad but can make things worse. Best of luck to you prayers. xx
Keeping you in thoughts and prayers
New subscriber and im sorry your going through this. Sending prayers
Dude, Kat and I are still here, and still sending what energy and prayers we can.
Thanks guys
You immune is twice if not more powerful then the human machine treatment you just really heavy on weight and not letting your immune work constantly eating, give you crew a break let the team fight you need to stop eating you only got a few month left before the cancer plus the treatment destroy you immune army trust me and trust in yourself and body leave religion a side for a minute and get real before is to late also after is gone you need to only eat once a day and stop smoking, Only eat sea food and vegetables and fruits only after the cancer is gone.
I will pray for yeh and keep you in my thoughts
Stay strong mi friend, i lost my mum 3 years ago, i was 20 at that time... I know its hard but there's always hope untile the next moment... C mon ❤️
i don't have cancer but i did fall from third floor on mid december of 2023 i was in pharmacological coma for 15 days my radial nerve is completely paralized while my homerus is healing right in my right arm i can't move in the right way my hand, but is not the one problem i got, i was operated too of aorta abdominal, i need to take pills atleast Cardioaspirin i don't know if i need to take it forever or not, but it is a miracle that i am alive. (i'm italian)
Cancer is scary, no shame in being scared. I have been in hospice for 2 months now. I wanted quality of life with the time I have left. I am glad you have family, a support system. Sending you good vibes and prayers. You are stronger than you know and brave. hugs
Thank you very much. I have been fighting it for just under 3 years. But it's pancreatic cancer there is not a high survival with it. But I am trying to hang in as long as I can.
Wish i knew what to say other than put your faith in God. Just don't give up. You can beat this thing. We still praying for your healing and wisdom.
Needs tightened to 30 in pounds once yolk is seated hat looks super loose...
Put some gear oil on the yolk washer and nut helps a lot too...
I have always heard that when there is a crack it will collect graphite or the debris of metal coming off of the center of the cap into that crack and cause a short or a pre ignition spark on something. But they are vented
Yea for some reason aftermarket or ac Delco caps my distributor was cracking them this last has been good for a couple of years now so I have no idea what was causing it
How do you clean them
Clean what the sensor?
X😂 I can't see through your hands sir
What was the code
I didnt have a code. Just the stalling or trying to stall on me. The crack sensor was the only sensor that was not new to cuase that problem.
How did you get the housing out??
Its should just pop out off the fender with a rubber grommet
Do you have a video actually doing the job?
No didn't make
I did this also. But the alignment shop couldn't get the camber correct. Tops of the tires stick out
Yea mine do as well I adjusted the torsion spring some to help
Great video with great comments I am picking up another dale jr Monte Carlo ss and did not know exactly what would be needed but I now have a idea and it’s all parts I already have!
I think I'm just going to pull my distributor and do it that way what you doing there it's just ridiculous and we still don't know what the thing is going to run
Its works just to me sometime to get it in the right spot they is a part 2 video if you care to watch but you don't have to thanks
Why is there green coolant in a GMC Dex cool is a orange looking color.
I dont like the orange coolant it can gel up it was running water when I got it so I just run the green stuff
Mine is not getting any fuel with a new fuel pump unless i jump a wire and cranks really slow no start and dies after change the distributor
Did it run befor you changed the fuel pump. Did you change the fuel filter
I have no idea who you are, but thank you for sharing your life with us🙏🙏 I will be praying for you and your recovery 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Why do people make videos and talk so much about things unrelated to the subject. Who cares why you're doing the video. Or the weather. And back off with the camera so we can see where to look before closing in on the close ups.
All I can say to people like you who just troll video trying to make other people look or feel bad when they are doing their best to help someone else its you assholes who probably never pick up a wrench or no the first thing about how cars work that discourage other people who no what their doing and try to help people when they can I am a mechanic of over 30 years who was answering a question that someone had just because I was forced to retire do to my cancer doesn't mean I forgot all my years of work so you can say what ever you want just remember no what your talking about befor you put your foot in your ass thank you for your looser attitude good by
@@duanescarpad2831 @duanescarpad2831 No, it's people like me that are shade tree mechanics and have been since I was a teen in the 60s, who needed quick information on a vehicle I've never worked on before, played your video because it met the search criteria in its tags and title but not in its content. I'm not a troll. I honestly needed info and I'm really tired of videos that do not provide quick answers because the creator rambles about unrelated topics. If you, as you say, are trying to help people, then take what I wrote as constructive criticism to try to improve your product instead of getting butt sore because you feel insulted that your product is criticized. And, truly, your camera work needs improvement. At least in this video it does. Maybe your other videos are better. I don't know, I haven't watched them, only this one because it met my search criteria. But I will never find out because I will add your channel to the list of those I don't want UA-cam to recommend. Oh yeah. You want to avoid having people put your channel on the Do Not Recommend list. It doesn't help your ratings.
OK I do make these videos for the little guy to help I didn't start talking about why I miss my weekly upload til the end or the weather. And I truly apologize for calling you a troller I have had a few that were and they totally tried to rip my videos apart. So bad that I had to get out my manual and do a video showing them that what I did was ok. I am sorry that I treated you badly I try to make my videos as user friendly as I can and my old camera my have had a hard time focusing with all the hoses and wires. My one may still have a problem with that small of a space. So I hope you accept my apology and watch my videos if the are important to something you are working on. If not it's ok to see I don't get paid by utube for my videos I am not in it for money or subscription I just try to help the little guy as best I can. Watch if you want or don't makes no difference to me. Most of me videos are full of information of the work being done thank you have a better day.
Does the adjustment work for a sticking drum when coming to a stop? My 98 Silverado passenger drum hangs up at a complete stop.
It might if it's out to far it could cuase the drum to stick but a bad brake cylinder could do the same
Mines too! I couldn’t get fluid after replacing springs and wheel fully cylinder and it wasn’t braking at all, it was my Proportioning Valve that closed up, but I got it open and fluid came out :D but I think I forgot to adjust my brake adjuster cause it falls down to floor and sticks and will only depress if I press it and pump up or it naturally does it
Sending you prayers and positive thoughts. Hang in there, Sir! Stay strong.
Thanks for your support man I appreciate it alot it means to us I am not going to stop fighting til it done
Stop going through the medical establishment, they get paid to keep you sick and continue taking chemical drugs and eating poisonous foods…… disease takes hold when the body is out of balance. Daily fast, get on a keto/carnivore diet to stop eating processed foods and seed oils, get bloodwork done to monitor any deficiencies, and exercise with a focus on 90 minutes of zone 2 cardio per week. Andrew Huberman is a great resource on rebalancing your body
Stay positive bud everything will be okey
We are hopeful thank you man just have do what doc says and hope for the best
Dang. Hoping everything was going better for you. Still praying you get what you need to get through this stuff.
Thanks man I appreciate it
Doing this myself for the first time doing plugs. Did your plugs end up being pre-gapped? Or did you end up having to remove them and gap them properly? Also i know you mentioned not needing to torque them down to 20 ft lbs. did that cause any issues? Sorry for dumb questions. TIA
They aren't bad questions for the first time doing it. My plugs were per gapped but I did check them off film you should just to make sure. I have not had any problems after changing them.
@@duanescarpad2831 thank you very much!
You're welcome
I just picked up a 97 C1500, and she's blowing cooler than it should. I'm thinking a thermostat and a flush is in order. It's amazing how much those heater cores can get clogged. Did you notice a big difference after doing this?
Yea after I did the flush I was getting 125 heat out of the vents helped me out a lot
Straight and to the point love this video 🤙🏼🤙🏼
GLORY BE TO GOD !!!!!
You use a scanner and it has to be + or - 2° and it's good, you are wrong don't spread fubar!
Not every one has access to a scan tool that's why I did this video this was not a in depth how to video like some of mine are just a quick way to make sure that timing was ok find TDC and check all the makes and things thank you
Hey i did mine but is not starting 😢
Ok did you read the check engine light codes or is that not on
@@duanescarpad2831 is not on
Are you getting fuel to the engine
Talking too much not short enough of the car
If you like more on the car I have other videos on them I have a introduction video on all my cars its 3 years old one of the first videos I did I have a few out this year because someone hit the back bumper as well thank you
I had a friend that drove a trans am in school. Red and tan like yours. I think it was t top but honestly can't remember. I also think he said the engine was a 307? Beautiful cars though. I had another friend that bought a black and gold iroc. Also beautiful. I almost unfriended him when he traded it for a yellow 69 firebird convertible. Lol Happy New Year!
Nice they are beautiful car this is my wife's car just has a 301 small block and no t tops we to have the rear bumper repainted this summer an old lady back into it I have a video on it well at least 2 videos on that
Do you need to re-learn the crankshaft sensor??
I didnt have on my truck
no access to adjuster on the rear drum brakes-1998 chevy silverado? ridge worn into the drum from the shoes. any words of advice? Thanks Duane and Happy Holidays
Not much you can accept take a hammer to the drum and hit left and right try to rock the drum off
there are two knockouts at the bottom of the backer plate. You have to punch them out and use one to push that arm away from the aduster wheel and then push on the adjustment wheel on the bottom to get it to back the shoes from the drum.
THANKS Much @@bradnorton4788 I will look into that, Happy New Year
Does the intake to heater core come from the intake or water pump? I think intake but not sure.
Yes in come off the intake and return to the water pump
With over 40 years of mechanical experience, I would highly suggest inspecting the inner surface of the brake drum. Odds are that since there was metal to metal contact and wear, that your drum is grooved and more than likely blued from the excess heat. If you do not, your brakes will not work as well as they should and will not last as long as they should. Also, be sure to clean everything with spray brake cleaner especially the adjuster and use a little silicone grease on the threads of it being sure to turn it in and out so as to lubricate the threads inside of it.
Looks like you're doing pretty good though. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks man hope the same for you
