I'm designing a Thunderbolt hub holder for the horizontal laptop dock. This is one of the more straight forward sketch. Enjoy!

      @ if it is, it might just be because your filament is humid with too much water in it

      @@harveynguyen-cg4cv the fillament is definitely humid. No doubt about that. But the facts ramains that this defect is only on tall and thin prints. No over extrusion or under extrusion from humidity. All the walls are smooth. As you can see, the lowet section is clean, but the upper section got snagged by the tool head and wiggle around when printed. It happend so often that I'm willing to look into y-axis acceleration so that the model don't jitter so much

      @@harveynguyen-cg4cv I print PETG at 350°C. Maybe it is due to the fact that the part is flimsy, 3x3mm to be exact. This is one of the main drawbacks of the bed slinger design. Tall prints got shaken like it's an earthquake demo =))). I'm adjusting the design to combat this

    maybe add some cable guides to the print, or even go the extra step to make cable tunnels inside the walls? Looks good! Love 3D printing for this super specific stuff

      @timmyboi6882 I appreciate the finish on products that I intend to last a long time. It will be mounted on the frame of the printer afterall so I would like it to have a nice finish.

      @@Leviathan0707 lower layer hights doesn't help all that much with strength, and that part dont need less than .2mm layer hight. there is no curves that would benefit from verry low layer hights.

    • @Leviathan0707
      @Leviathan0707 2 місяці тому

      @andreasklbo3895 point taken on the vericality that don't need small layer height. That's fair. Should have gone for 0.1mm. Other than that, I just like a smother surface to result in less sanding. Although it might look fine for now. Once I put primer on it will show. Thanks for the input btw. I completely forgot about that

  • @andreasklbo3895

    the wallet it is probably not ment to be used with PETG, PETG is a little bit sensetive to the print settings and sometimes need a brim to make it stick more properly. If you still have issues with the strength of the PETG, i would recommend increasing the exstution multiplyer to 1.1 if you havent already. I have looked at the default print settings for PETG, and the bed temp is a bit low, i usearly go for around 80->85 C print

    Spaghetti mode and the AI dont work on the A1 your better off getting a wize cam or a eufy cam to watch your printer and just use the app to stop your printer A1 has the worst camera 😅

      @Leviathan0707 3 місяці тому

      @@omaroskeno3314 yea, I was expecting the AI stuff on the A1 to stop it but I have to stop it by hand all the time. 5 FPS is really bad but for a spaghetti it is really easy to see imo. As long as the lighting is sufficient ofc

  • @andreasklbo3895
    @andreasklbo3895 3 місяці тому

    There are several things that can cause that issue, bed and nozzle temp being the main one, but it could also be: filament quality, print settings or dirty nozzle. from my experience. but it depends.
