Been down this road. Same symptoms. Mine was cam poisoning censor. Oooand yes don’t hang heavy keys off your fob Will create problems
Great video, thank you!
awesome i have the same issue and it took alot of videos to get to the right one .. thanks i really appreciate it
For everyone watching this incomplete video: To remove the WIN module you must take off the lower panal on the drivers side. remove the metal panal below it. Remove the right metal bracket blocking access to the module. Then remove the cluster. You can now get to the 3 bolts that hold the win module bracket. Then remove the win module and bracket as one piece. Hopes this helps the people that ended up watching this video looking for win module replacement instructions.
Thanks for this comment! I'm going to attempt to replace mine... are there any special tools needed to remove the WIN module?
@@bryanbridgforth6651 NO special tools but you will have to deal with a lot of snap in plastic panals and parts that you will think will break when you pry them out. Other than that it is just screws and bolts.
@@lccdan1 so just Phillips head screws?
@@bryanbridgforth6651 Some have bolt heads 7mm,8mm and maybe one other. There is also torx head screws holding in the cluster.
@@lccdan1 thanks a ton man!!
Tripod. Worth the investment.
Not sure if you get comment bells or not but BUDDY, like you said not many videos online on this 'particular' issue. 96' TAHOE (4L60-E)---> I diagnosed the issue once I got pan off (slightly different) this one would STICK in PARK. But if not for you and your daughter I might not have had the courage to do myself ( smart, but NOT a mechanic) and you went thru each step BRILLANTLY!! THANKS ALOT for posting and trust me I don't leave these comments very often. Good people get good returns! Thanks again I DID IT!!
2012 Dodge Charger 3.6 stalls when flooring it at high rpm’s
What was your fix on that? 2014 durango 3.6 stalls at 4K rpm.
Help Eric! Where is the promised second follow up video? I know it's the ignition switch drawing power as well as the gear indicator on the dash. HELP 🥺
Wish you would have showed how you got Detent Rooster off.
Eric, how did you resolve this issue? I am having the same issue. Isolated the draw to instrument cluster but dont know where to go from here.
Linkage cable assembly
Need help on how you got the rod in with the valve rod. I can’t get both in at the same time …..
Did it shake
Okay so I had the recall done on fuel pump and then my car started stalling I had a bypass jumper installed and fixed
The bypass did not work nor did the fuel pump the tipm spark plugs coils I’m done trading it in all done with dodge
Started stalling again tried tipm fuel pump torque converter clutch solenoid valve body conductor plate throttle body is spotless new air filter I think it’s the computer but I’m done trading it in
Sold the car
have you had this happen i had several park pawls go bad with everything ford chevy and fiatler ive noticed if the trans did not have regular flushes in 4-6 months after words the whole trans failed am i the only one this happens to
i found the same thing in the pan of a 4l60e in an 08 silverado with different symptoms. goes into gear but doesnt move you rev it its like your power braking to check motor mounts like something inside the trans is keeping it from turning if you shift to 1 then bang itll come unstuck and trans is fine after that
Way too much camera woobling, too much zoom ,I realized your little girl was filming but made me seasick
How did u fix the issue ? What is the part name/number? I have the same issue ... Do have another video describes more ... Thank u mate
So my 2013 Durango recently started stalling out while starting. (Push button ignition) the remote start quit working. Now occasionally while tryin to start the Durango it will start then immediately stall out, then usually takes 2-3 tries to start it but then it runs just fine once it takes off. Anyone else have a similar issue?
I have the same issue
I got a recall for mine .. fuel pump relay it had it changed once. But looks like that recall got a recall..lol
It’s a recall take it the dealer. Fuel pump relay
damn GM did a piss poor job with their transmissions .
wrong. they can go 500k miles sans abuse.
Can't really see whats going on to much movement
2008 Chevy Colorado replaced shift cable, but it still won’t go into park or first gear, what do I check next.
Peace of crap ford. Keep the good work my good.man
Rear window wiper motor had a short it was draining the battery. Too hot
Im having an issue with my 03 Tahoe rolling when I put it in park and shut the vehicle off even with the parking brake on. Just replaced Neutral safety switch and cable feels good and tight, please help
Sounds like your parking brake system needs looked at. The rolling a few mm after putting the vehicle in park is normal....that's the parking paw catching inside the transmission.
How did you get to the WIN? Through instrument cluster? Do you have another video you can share on that?
Yes. And from underneath.
Do you have a video? Can you share that link please if you do? I have same 2013 Durango. Had the WIN module come into today. Im just not sure the best way to get at it.
@@thefacelessskeleton7714 sorry. No video.
Thanks for this video.
props to your daughter! She's probably as old as my son now 11 going on 12 :)
My 2011 suburban key won’t turn forward after my wife was yanking on the gear shifter but now the gear shifter is moving back and forth without the vehicle being on
you need to show removing and installing that part
Thanks for taking your time to make that video. Would it be the same repair for a 2005? I have the exact same symptoms
I don't know Chris...... pull the transmission pan and see if that piece is in your pan.
Is your vehicle working properly now did that fixed the problem
It did fix it.
Could you please tell me the name of the part that you replaced
@@AC-wm2mi the part number is in the video.... towards the end I show it and describe it.
I spent $300 on an original key and now I need the module😮
I have a new problem...My brother was changing my battery and told me he took off the positive cable 1st and it accidentally touched the little metal pole that run down on side of the battery which caused a spark...Put the new battery in and the truck has no power.. Do you have a clue of what this problem could be?
Fuse
Did you have to remove the transmission to fix this
No, you just have to remove the transmission pan to access all this
How much do u think the transmission shop would charge to do this job?
@@corneliousbyoung7631 1.5 hours plus parts.
@@tubeblack49 Do you think $552.00 is to much n it took u no longer then 20 minutes to do wat u done
@@corneliousbyoung7631 sounds a little high, but in the ball park. I would say between 300 and 500.
Sure enough it was the same thing just waiting on the part and then gone fishing .
It's a fairly easy fix.
What’s the name of the part
My transmission is stuck in park bought all other things like brake switch ECT...and I also went thru 3 shifter mechanism that was fun . Was gonna drop a used trans going to check this part out ...to be continued....
You have a great helper and you are a blessed man indeed!!! I have a 77 GMC 350V8 and the autotrans won't go into park or reverse. Forward gears are fine, and no slipping. About 60k miles on engine and trans. Have been trying to figure out what suddenly happened one night. lol This may be it. Thanks for the help!!! Wish I could email you with a couple of questions. : )
I have a parasitic draw also, being told from instrument cluster. $ 245 for labor to diagnose so far. Trying to find instrument cluster. Very expensive, around $ 300 or more. with exchange. Than labor to reinstall. Also needs calibration they say. I think I can do it. just wondered will this fix it. I will be about $700 into it.
My 2009 Ford Escape battery drain was caused by a burned out rear window wiper motor that was drawing over 10 amps, actually blew the 10 amp fuse on mechanic’s tester. Took several labour hours to find the cause.
How did you find it?
Local Mechanic found it by doing amp draws on each circuit. Circuit #19, 25 amp fuse in the fuse box on left side of passenger footwell. He charged me $265 Cdn and it had to go back second time as his first diagnosis turned out to be incorrect. He didn’t charge me for his time on second check where he did find the issue. Once I did a Google search using “2009 Ford Escape battery drain rear wiper” it shows lots of responses as a very common problem. I never found that on previous searches where I didn’t know about rear wiper being a major cause, on both Escapes and other Ford asUzvs and also other makes too. . I have a new one being shipped to me and should have it next week and I will install it as I have already removed old one. SomeUA-cam videos show how to repair old wiper motor.
This is the problem I'm having now with my 2012 Escape! But I only 5 minutes ago figured it out from another video. My rear wiper quit working just before we noticed the battery draining & needing jumped every day. And today I heard a strange noise coming from the rear of the vehicle as I drove. It had to be that motor!
What’s the part called?
I give the part number in the video near the end.
I give the part number near the end of the video.
Ok thanks...can’t get mine out of park
@@kevinbethea8956 that is a completely different issue. Just so you know.
@@tubeblack49 we've changed everything else.....would you happen to kmow the issue?
Would this work even for a 2016 Chevy Suburban?
Good information Thanks
My suburban is doing the same thing , but my is the interlock I'm pretty sure, but I'll find out soon as I rip the bottom dash out today lol
That happens when peple throw it into park while moving ... but sometimes it just breaks
04 tahoe won’t shift to parking it does but in the cluster stay on reverse what could b the problem
Did you get it figured out I'm having the same problem with my 04 yukon
That's some very helpful information. Video is a little hard to watch but for being eight, she did a pretty dang good job. Thank you for the info.
It's a 4l60e
You must been proud... Need to get my little princess to learn as well...
