I don't think anyone should start learning an instrument by playing this game. As you said in one of your other videos, you couldn't remember what you played, and this is because you played by looking at a screen and not playing by music. The game only gives you the lead keyboard notes which handicaps you the same as playing pro drums where you don't have hi-hat pedal.

@13542thecoolest This is made to be played with one hand on the keys and one on the pitch bender + button to activate Overdrive (or whatever they call it in RB). As far as a learning tool it's a bit of a mixed bag. I do think you can learn to play part of the real songs, but as with any music learning it requires memorization and patience. As a keyboard player who started playing Pro Keys I find it does help with finger strengthening and timing. I find myself using my pinky more often.

Wanna know why they only want u to use your right hand? You remember playing Imagine, then you should only used your right hand because there is also a left hand which isn't charted. So they don't learn u to play the left hand, only the right. Then u should also try to just use your right hand. Makes sense? =)

The best way is to start with basics then play songs from easyest to hardest on each dificulty and practice practice practice!

Electric drums + RB3 pro mode is awesome. I've been playing a good 3 times a week for almost two years now. While playing I have my amp hooked up so I can hear what I actually sound like. This helps me improve the quality of my playing. Thanks for the videos.

when you get the midi thing, can you hook it up to the keyboard and see if you can activate the yellow mode, forget what its called, with your foot? it would be nice to know before christmass so i can add it to my list for than, instead of an extra i get when the squire guitar comes out.

I've watched all your videos so far and this is a really good process of reviewing the game from the perspective of someone who actually wants to buy it and learn to play for real. I used to play real keyboard and really want to buy the game, I played all the guitar hero games so should pic this up. My one objection was that possible I wouldnt remember what I was playing so it will be interesting to see if when you play for real whether you remember it.

When i started learning keyboard i started hands squished together, then i slowly started to spread them out, its a slow process but It's really effective because as you move one of your hands further, the other hand starts widen itself up making it easier to play notes, like the bass and the guitar.

You should make some pro drums videos and showcase your kit and how it works

Jumping into expert is definitely the way to go. Just practice one part of a song at a time until you get it.

i think you're onlysupposed to play with the right hand 'cause the real keyboardist does that. the keyboardist also plays with the left hand but that isn't charted, maybe it will in rock band 4...

During your first videos, I did think, "surely he hasn't skipped the song training mode, has he?". Haha. Good informative video, thanks, I can't wait to get my hands on all the pro instruments (price is stopping me). Also, I've never heard of a tape measure that doesn't include centimetres!
