What is the point of this vocal warm up? It's certainly not got anything to do with technique
I guess it helps in maintaining key and knowing how to modulate to another key. It's a good technique though
She explains in the video that she is trying to help the class smoothly transition through the passage. Humming is an example of a semi-occluded vocal tracts (SOVT) exercise, which can increase vocal intensity, efficiency, and economy. She is also having students practicing glides and staccato singing. It seems to benefit the students in her class!
