How to Debadge a VW Atlas
Here's my video on how to take badges or emblems off your car using a heat gun, a piece of fishing line, and the 3M eraser wheel. Made this video with my phone so the audio is not very good.
Here in this video, I take the badges off my Volkswagen Atlas using a heat gun and some fishing line, and taking the residue off using the 3M eraser wheel that's attached to my drill. I thought the badges looked tacky, so I took them off and now my Atlas has a nice, clean look.
BTW: I apologize for the video cutting out, not sure why it's doing that.
Hope this video is helpful, thanks for watching!

Excellent video
Nice work!!!
Why?
Save a lot of time and leave the letters in place.
That looks really clean, great job!
Nice job and thanks for sharing. Nothing like clean lines, eh?
Are you going to black out your chrome?
Great video
Thanks! I didnt know the Atlas could even come off! I have a new project
Looks Good! doing mine this weekend. Has anybody thought about or have removed the luggage racks? I thinking I will never use them. If they have a clean look removed with minimal hardware like sunken bolts. Could paint them body color. the Atlas, I feel would be even sleeker.
Looks bad man! I wanna do it now I bought a brand new Atlas this past weekend.
Great job, thanks for posting!
How can I remove that whole rear chrome piece?
Gee whiz, that is CLEEEEAN!!!!
Total waste of time.
Learn something new, I thought the A T L A S was molded into that chrome trim
I understand why it works on the "ATLAS" but how does it not remove the clear coat on the "SE"? Interested in doing this to my Atlas but worried about messing up the clear coat. Thanks!
You don't have to use the eraser if you're worried. Goo-gone soaked into the adhesive will remove the residue
I wish you would’ve taken off the atlas last cause I want to do this to my atlas but I’m only removing the sel, v6 and 4Motion emblem and I want an idea of how it Looks. Nice job though
This video inspired me to go ahead and do the same on mine. I already owned the 3M eraser wheel for other projects but agree it definitely looks better w/o the extra crap.
Not sure why would anyone de-badge their vehicle? This is entirely new to me.
@Tc Veit oh ok. well, I'm glad i live in the USA then ;)
It's just a cleaner look, you have to admit there's a lot of badging going on the rear of the atlas
It looks so much nicer
I did the same with our white R line Atlas but didn’t use the eraser, luckily the double sided tape came off with the letters and it just needed a wipe down!
Thanks for posting!
Definitely looks a lot sleeker now! Can you do my Jetta? 😂 Great video
