what about trombones, when played as a solo instrument they can often play in a range well above what is reasonable to write in bass clef.

Furtwangler was important, but Karajan took the Berlin Phil to new heights. Under him, the strings had a silky, chiselled sound, and the woodwinds were uniquely beautiful.

great video, they are two incredible and difficult pieces, la campanella is more challenging in technical terms, but that doesn't mean that the moonlight sonata 3 is much easier. There are people who say that this 3 movement is not that difficult, but taking it day after day and practicing the arpeggios one by one, fast passages and contrasts is very challenging, I am studying the third movement, and I can say for sure that it is very difficult . Anyone who says it's easy is very ignorant, because the ENTIRE piece itself is very difficult :) And it's not about being difficult either, people have to know how to appreciate the composers' works, what they wanted to represent in these pieces

When I was 8 or 9 years old, my dad took me to Lincoln Center to hear all 6. I was spellbound. Usually I was a restless and fidgety kid, but my dad told my mom that I sat "glued in my seat" I'm 71 & can still see the trumpet player's face getting red playing #2. As a keyboard player, it's hard not to favor #5; even the Trumpet Goddess Alison Balsom said #5 is her favorite.... anyway here's my list: #5, #2 especially the 3rd Movement, #1 especially the 1st Movement, #6, #3 (thanks to Walter/Wendy Carlos) #4. This order could change depending on the performance and interpretation. For instance, if the keyboardist is playing #5 with too much syrupy rubato and rallentando, it's ruined.

You love me because I am a big, stout Irish lug, spent twenty years as a rassler, and now I play guitar, taishogoto, pennywhistle and Leicestershire Smallpipes. Plus a few other things. A phin from Thailand. A fifty-year old Soviet-made balalaika I restored. I may have a problem. 🎶😵‍💫

In order to become a member of the Vienna Philharmonic, you first have to be a member of the Vienna State opera orchestra . All members of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra are members of the State opera orchestra , but not all members of the opera orchestra are member sof the Philharmonic . When the Philharmonic is playing a concert , either in Vienna or on tour , there are always enough musicians for performances at the Vienna State opera .

C sharp minor is a super common key for guitar players because it creates opportunities for interesting chords (in standard tuning) by combining fretted notes with open strings (both E strings, A, and B) that would be impossible to finger otherwise (guitarist are always looking for open strings to use in chords). In the age of equal temperament though, I'm not clear on why this key would sound different than a similar key on a piano or with an orchestra. It would be nice to hear an explanation of that.
