Perfect game, perfect video!
🙌🙌🙌
did ptolemy ever married egyptian wife?
Apparently Ptolemy Soter - the first Ptolemy, did not.
The first named author in history was a woman. A daughter of Sargon named Enheduanna.
I know someone who would appreciate the sentiment behind this title! Good job, sir. - H.
Great video to watch alongside as I'm replaying Odyssey for the 4th time!
4 playthroughs is impressive!
What game is this ?
It’s Assassin’s Creed Origins
This is why i love the AC games. The historical places you can visit and learn about, even if it's not 100% accurate due to lack of evidence of how something would have looked at the time.
They’re such great games!
I love AC and I love Origins, I love act 1, act 2, I love the setting, how they reconstructed Egypt, but I hate how they depicted Caesar and Cleopatra, it is very cliche "I want power". There is no depth to these characters. I am sad they did not develop them further, especially Cleopatra would have been so much better if they included her sisters and her father (which she might have a romantic relationship with). They did a great job with the setting, but very bad job with the actual historical events. The events are very shallow and mostly fictional.
Would you cover AC Mirage too? Ik it's Arabic golden age rather than European classicism but still interesting. Much love from Romania 🫶
I’d certainly like to play them, perhaps I’ll do a ‘let’s play’ series when I’m done with my AC Odyssey playthrough 👍
Loving these teaching videos through AC, so helpful for myth and religion GCSE.
So glad you’re finding them useful 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Love history, enjoy AC, instant sub. Greetings from Czechia.
Thanks so much for your support! Glad you enjoyed the video - lots more in the works 👍
Ajax‼️ 🤔We Read About Him In The Writings Of Homer. I Seem To Recall Hearing About Another Warrior With A Spear? Or A Bow?? That Would Strike From Behind The Shield Of Ajax..?! Though High School Was Long Ago…I Should Remember His Name..?!!??? Thanks Again For Posting This‼️ .M
😳Library Damaged In 48 B.C. ? Whoa That’s Horrible‼️ I Think 🤔 I Heard That It Was Burned? Not Sure Who Would Do Such A Thing? The Loss Of All That Knowledge…Like 400,000 Scrolls Destroyed!! .M
Oh Yeah Jason And The Argonauts!! That’s A Real Good One Right There! Had To Look Into That One After Acquiring The Hammer Of Jason As Kassandra In AC Odyssey. Really Enjoying Your Series!! .M
Yess‼️So Glad You’re Doing This Because I Had Lots Of Questions…All Of Which Are As Of This Moment Been Answered And Resolved‼️ Any Plans For Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag? As The 1700’s Always Held A High Level Of Interest For Me! Thanks Again Professor‼️ .M
Glad you’re enjoying the videos! I may do a series on other Assassin’s Creed games in the future but for now I’m keeping things in and around the Classical period - focusing mainly on Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt 👍
Is the statue of Athena Promachos in the game scaled to what it would actually be like?
There is a really good early game weapon which is Poseidons trident, I forgot where its located but it gives the ability to breath underwater
Thanks for the heads up! Someone else mentioned this in another video so I’ll be sure to check it out!
Love your channel 👍
@Hdxmsyfex2334 glad you like it 👍
Ik people say it's an L game buts actually a big W
I love Odyssey (and Origins), and although I already knew quite a bit about ancient Greece (and Egypt), you make it so much fun to learn even more. Especially in Odyssey, I think the game developers did a great job making it as authentic as possible. Hardcore AC players aren't very fond of this one, but it is seriously beautiful and a joy to play if you're not after killing all the time. Keep up the good work, I am enjoying it. I am still curious about the Pnyx though. It has a pretty important part in the story but I know next to nothing about it and it doesn't look very impressive.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. I have a video coming out very soon that talks about the Pnyx (and Athenian Democracy more widely)! I agree AC Odyssey and Origins and spectacular games and do such a great job of balancing playability and accuracy! Lots more content in the works! 😁
I’m So Impressed!! Of All The Times I’ve Been Inside The Parthenon In The Game, I’ve Never Actually Taken The Time To Climb The Statue Of Athena Inside Her Temple I Just Always Felt It Would Be Disrespectful To Do So. Yet I’m About To Climb Her! Just Out Of Admiration And Curiosity About The Detail Of The Sculpture She’s Holding! Thank You So Much For The History Lesson!! You’re The Coolest Professor Ever‼️ .M
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Lots more content on the way 👍
Would appreciate if u could make some commentary videos from greek mythological point of view.
Absolutely! I’m about to start making some videos replaying the game from start to finish - there will be lots of mythology in this but also gets me back to stories from the game where I could do videos on specific aspects of mythology! Very excited to start making these!
I love when you fly around with the eagle and show the geography!
7:49 😅😂
I looooove AC Odyssey and Orgins, I achieved platinum for both. Years later, I still catch myself missing these two open game worlds. I miss exploring them, how beautiful they are and how intriguing it all was. Thank you for bringing us back, I look forwad to more ❤
Thanks for your support! I have lots of videos coming from both games! I’m also going to be doing a series playing through both games from start to finish 😁
@mrhindesclassicschannel I seriously can't wait, I've subscribed ❤️
@@BaDazai Thanks again for your support! I’m glad you like the channel!
Very nice. Here's a little bump for you and the algorithm.
Thanks for the support, it’s much appreciated!
Really cool! Thank you for this amazing video 🙌
Glad you liked it, thanks for the support!
Great Vid!
Glad you enjoyed it, lots more content coming 👍
Idk why you don't have any comments on this but this is a top analysis man. Good job!
Thanks! Small channel vs the algorithm I guess! Thanks for the support…and the comment 😁 🙌
You clearly taught this information but if you want uninterrupted and more nuanced footage then use discovery mode, it will walk you through all over the map or you can go to specific locations
The discovery mode is excellent! I just like having more of the gameplay features available in the videos - lots of videos coming featuring combat/story coming 👍
That's posiden as he has a trident
The game certainly does seem to suggest this, but in original bronze is missing the projectile meaning we can’t be certain…
Nice, the videos could be longer though 🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed it! Trying to find the right balance, but got lots more videos coming 👍
Very interesting my friend. My favourite game of all time. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked the video! Lots more content coming 👍
Good video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
interesting video. a small tip is that if you are planning on doing any video's where you do something underwater you can use Poseidon's Trident located on an island between Chios and Samos so you can breathe underwater.
Wow, thanks for this, never knew that existed! Will certainly be checking that out 👍
I know that your videos are focused on the history side, but I would be cool to see you play the game too! Just free roaming, completing objectives and stuff, would be cool. Great channel!
Cheers! I’ve just started making a few videos like that - did one that’s already out taking over the Temple of Hephaistos and recently shot a few more. Going to start a new game soon and perhaps throw in some live streams 👍
@mrhindesclassicschannel Sounds awesome! Looking forward to watching :)
Di langit itu tdk ada warna ungu petir juga tdk ungu bego
i really like sailling with the adrestia and i'm really curious about what they are singing and if it is related to any events in game or maybe things related to the story. maybe you could do a video on that?
I do have a video planned where I’ll be on the ship; going to be filming that over the Christmas break! I’ll have to look into the songs 👍
I love this content love to see more.
The historical aspect of this game being as accurate as it is was mind-boggling my first time playing. Great video as well!
It’s so good how accurate it is; a phenomenal resource but still loads of fun!
really appreciated your interpretation of the metopes and eastern pediment! recently i read something that discussed which version of the chariot race myth the pediment depicts and i found that a rather engaging question. I’m curious if you know whether the in-game pediments are based on any extant material? i’ve managed to link the metopes - as you did - and a number of the statues in the game to real world examples but haven’t managed to do the same with the pediments.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍 Yeah, I’m not too sure, as you say, most things seem fairly recognisable but I’m not too sure about the pediments 🤷
i have been playing ac odyssey almost non stop this weekend and i love just exploring the world and when i walk past temples and other things you have covered in your videos i really like to just take my time and take a deeper look at them and just knowing alot more things about it.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the game; I think it has great replay value! Also, really happy to hear the videos are useful!
Very interesting! The statue is huge!
Also worth mentioning that statue was later copied by Byzantine artisans, for the image of Jesus. This is why Jesus is mistakenly portrayed as a white Greek. The face even appears on the Turin Shroud.
Wow! That’s really interesting; didn’t know that’s where the inspiration came from!
I thought it was fortnight c5 s2
im sure they justified the expenditure by saying something like "angry gods attract even more invasions, therefore massive temples should keep the barbarians away!"
love the mix mate, would enjoy watching more videos like this!
Glad you like it, got a few more of these in the works 🙌
Epic!
🙌🙌🙌
You should do AC3 or Unity or black flag maybe even the Ezio trilogy
