Lovely playing, crisp and clean. Superb tone from the banjo - what a cracking instrument...
Thanks a million. The Clareens are great all rounders.
@@noahfinnmandolin Absolutely. I’ve heard a few played local to me here in London. But none with the nice tone of yours! Would almost tempt me away from mandolin. :-)
@@TheIrishMandolin Banjo over mandolin? Sacrilege 😂😂
@@noahfinnmandolin I know. The thought of the likely penance! Shudder...
Great video, a joy to hear! I'd like to play this on mandolin, is the banjo tuned GDAE?
Very nice!
Beautiful. Will try and learn myself. Might take a year though
Sorry just read the gumpth😂
Is that a collings mandolin? Sounds nice❤
Superb playing, flawless transition between tunes. Lovely tone of your Oyster.
Thanks Mark
Bravo, sir…
😁Thanks very much. Putting together sets is my new obsession.Hope all is well👍
Nice sound❤
Hermoso instrumento! Saludos desde Bolivia Sud-america. Ese instrumento es muy raro aquí, felicidades, tocas muy bien. Sigue adelante
¡Gracias! Saludos desde Irlanda. Me alegro de que hayas disfrutado de la música.
Nice job

@@noahfinnmandolin brilliant ,thanks .
This is great. Also wondering, when you listen to the Dubliners, it sounds like they're picking loads more for each single pick you do. Do you know what they're playing?
Great playing. Great rythem
Thanks Greg. Glad you enjoyed it.
I love this
Thanks Joshua, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I don’t play banjo but I play this song on the bagpipes and this sounds amazing?
Thank you. The bagpipes are an awesome instrument.
This tune brings “Midnight on the Water” to my mind
I get it confused more with Hector the Hero
That’s a beautiful instrument and sounds great too. Good job playing
You have one of the most beautiful sounding mandolins I’ve ever heard! I don’t know if you do requests or not, but I’d love to here Ships are Sailing on it!
Hello Garen. Thank you! I will give Ships are Sailing a go!
nice clean playing. Great job.
Thank you Jack.
Are you playing this in G?
Hi David. Its in D. Use same shapes but drop it down a string to the G string to play it in G
@@noahfinnmandolin Thanks. My friend plays it and I need to learn it the next time we pick together. He does indeed do it in D so I'm good to go.
Good stuff. Happy picking!!
This is the kind of music that makes life worth living.
Thank you Garen. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome Noah. Excellent pickin'. I almost like the banjo listening to you play it. :)
Nice one Noah 👍
A good visual tutorial Noah, and played well and with heart. Nice hammer on/slides too.
These are classics Noah and you have played them both beautifully !!
Thanks. Really enjoyed your Flowers of Edinburgh video. Lovely playing and the quality of recording is very impressive. Happy Birthday to your Dad. 99 amazing!
@@noahfinnmandolin Thanks, Noah. !!
Hey Noah, this is one of your best I think. Great picking and rhythm.
Thank you! Moving in the right direction at least :-)
Hey Noah, I remember doing the Kerfunken Jig - it was fun..I like how you have incorporated some dbl stops in there. I don't know the second tune but it sounds good with some slides and triplets. You've got good solid notes there.
Very nice, Noah. Excellent rhythm and each note landed perfectly.
Thank you !
I obviously missed this one Noah, sorry. This is lovely. If you are looking for more subscribers try posting them on Facebook at Mandolin Players or All Things Mandolin. They love it when they can see someone play the tune like you are doing. Might also help if you put the translated titles in the description part. Great playing.
Thanks so much for the advice and glad you enjoyed the tunes. I will look into those Facebook groups.
I thought I commented on this I'm sorry I'm late. Excellent clear picking, and great triplets!
Noah, a Silverangel will never let you down..as proof, this set is great, well played !!
Thank you very much! They are great instruments. Ken knows his stuff!
Lovely! You make it look easy! Great sound!
Haha! Cool! Good Job, love that song! Kids got me a mandolin for Christmas and I'm having a hard time learning how to play it but this video will be helpful!
Well played
Thank you.
Nice playing, great tone and timing. Well done Noah !!
What kind of mandolin is this? Awesome!
Hi Becky Rose, it is a Silverangel mandolin made by Ken Ratcliff in Kentucky. They are wonderful instruments.
Noah Finn Ken Ratcliff, right? Is he still building mandolins?
@@iris3B yes he is. He makes a unique sounding mandolin. Lots of bass and treble. Just great for Irish trad music.
Noah Finn Thanks so much!
I really like your playing on this one - subscribed !!
This is really good Noah - why have you stopped posting ?? More please.
Oh Noah - I have this one too - but you do it much better than I do ! Good tempo and rhythm
Nice Noah ! Good sound too.
Mad skills bra
Very nicely done - clear and precise with good flow and timing !
That last note hahahaha. That was so lovely man. I'd love to have a go on a mandolin but I lack that skill
Great but fix the ending
Great but fix the ending
Nice playing. Did you get your Silver Angel directly from Ken Ratcliff? I would love to have him build me one.
Chris Pierce hi Chris I bought my mandolin used in the mandolincafe for sale ads.

Thanks for this -- it's surprisingly difficult to find a tutorial for this tune, and your video makes it possible to pick out the tune and learn it.
