M120 V12 Datsun Z, start up, walk around, revving
The Datsun Z is running better than ever! The long project is making real progress and now real engine tuning can commence.
Jordan switched to a stock intake manifold helped remove cylinder the cylinder variation. Stock coil packs using the MS3 Pro and 3x Quadsparks to drive them. Stock fuel rail and injectors for more consistent fuel pressure to all cylinders.
Still using log style exhaust manifolds. Equal length manifolds and chassis upgrades/repairs are coming next.

Doing some quick checks on track to make sure the acceleration thresholds are good and the logic worked as intended. I'll other videos with more 'behind the scenes' and how it works. This is just a test rig so excuse it's very crude appearance, but it runs off an Arduino Metro and uses an accelerometer communicating over I2C. Actually we’re not super happy with the exhaust noise yet! It’s a log style exhaust manifold merging into 1 but equal length manifolds are coming (maybe before 2025?) that’ll give it a totally different tune!

@@SouthernMagnoliaWheelCo Even though I'm an equal length fanatic myself, it sounds kind of cool now, kind of like factory aston martin v12 headers. Are they the standard merc log style headers, or is it something else?

What are the issues with the ITB? Were they out of sync?
Yeah syncing the air flow at idle, at tip in, and the fuel flow in the rail all pushed us toward using the stock setup
What throttle body was used? I cannot determine if they are stock with an extension tube to the intake manifold. I am doing a Countach replica using the M120 so I am garnering all the information I can. Is there a way to contact Jordan directly to gather more details of her build and specifics to all components used to get the engine set up as well as base tune values for the Megasquirt unit?
They’re aftermarket Honda B series 70mm throttle bodies. Yup just has an extension tube to turn them 90 deg

They were a little tricky to get them all sync’d so hit the easy button.
holy crap this is the best video i've seen on the subject. Do you have any technical videos on this? Or do you sell plans/code for this project? I've never coded before, thats my main hang up. can't wait to see more!
Hey @seanhiggins I don’t have any content going deeper into the code but maybe that’s a good idea for a follow up. At one point I thought I may sell the setup as a kit so I didn’t want the code circulating out there but I don’t think I’m going to.

Yeah it was a 3D printed SLS nylon manifold. Megasquirt ms3pro just went back to oem manifold

I love the M120 from years of working at various Mercedes dealers. It would be great to see the build evolve (engine setback, suspension/brakes, etc.) but it's a lot of work. Nicely done.

For sure! But the m120 is a tech powerhouse with hiiiigh capability for cheap. Hard to turn down
