After you beat the main story-based quest (main game), you'll get a letter telling you to meet someone (the Elza letter you saw at start). That's the official start of the DLC/quest. I'm finding out the hard way that I'm underpowered for it, I'm in my low 30s level-wise. I SHOULD be closer to 40. As you saw, I was doing SPECS of damage in the new area courtesy of the level difference.

@@ramza813 NP. Just don't make the same mistake I did regarding this DLC. With luck, the Dead Kel stuff will put me at the mid-30s mark.

@@Harrison11106 I did teeth of naros right away in this playthrough and at Ysa now at level 28. Didn't start Rathir yet but I ram there months ago when the new version released. I talk to everyone and do everything. That's how much I love KoA

NP, I just want to give people an idea of what the game is like & how far it's progressed since earlier alphas/betas. It's the first true "old skool" single player & party-based D&D (well Pathfinder, which is close) type game I've seen in a LOOONG time (the kind that the AAAs don't bother with anymore, which is sad). There are few recent games that have been screaming "play me" to me like this one has (Octopath Traveller is the other). The nit-picks I have with it as it stands, are just that, nit-picks (the encumbrance system & to a lesser extent the travel time. I also wish it was turn-based like the D:oS series). At least from the betas there's nothing that I can say that's really "game breaking" to me. With luck I'll be done with Octopath Traveller by the time this game releases (late September, if they keep to their schedule).

It was supposed to be a companion, but I don't know if the Kickstarter got that far before it ended (according to their #31 update it DID, but I didn't see it in either beta play). The Aasimar is in there as a playable species in this beta though.

No worries, the finale for some reason is choppy as hell for the last couple of hours. Basically I'm 2 for 2 with this play-through :/ Hopefully it's 'cause it's the beta, I don't relish the idea of the finished product having these hiccups when I stream. That'll really REALLY just blow heaping chunks. At the 50 minute-ish mark things seem to get on track with the sounds & everything. Hmmm

I've not tried a Druid, but I have seen in an earlier beta a Ranger playthrough & the guy did have an animal companion. Also, one of the main villains for this arc is a Druid apparently.

I started another beta play today, as a Druid. Yes, they DO have the Wildshape ability, but it don't kick in until 4th level.
