I think the reclaimer quote used from the Spartan ops was just a person providing a definition to an uncommon term. I personally think the best example of all humans being reclaimers is shown in the contact harvest book with sgr johnson.. When the covvy ship scans harvest they see millions of icons showing reclaimers and artefacts. If I remember correctly There is a crisis of faith subplot with a deacon or covenant character about the realization that forerunners had a gylph for humans

Its a divisive subject because this distinction is made up to justify the forrunner retcon. Humans are reclaimers because humans were meant to be forrunners. If games take precedent, than humans are literally forrunners (spark being "crazy" does not refute this) Watching new-lore heretics debate this awful, braindead lore is like watching Satanists debate the bible. It may be canon now, but it's a worse story in every way.

Halo 5 is a great game. The campaign is just unfathomably horrendous. Still graphically worth 1 quick romp. Multiplayer is fantastic mechanically. Just the usual 343 failure

Yes Halo 5 was definitely overhated. Halo is being held back by the OG fans who can't accept Halo to have basic things like sprint. I went back and played Halo 3 MCC and Halo 5 beats it. Yes Halo 3 will always be known as one of the most epic scifi stories in gaming but gameplay is king for me and can this please fucking stop with oh Bungie this oh Bungie that :D Without microsoft they faded into mediocrity and I must mention on Halo 4 and Halo 5 actually a lot of the Halo 3 devs did work on. The people that stayed with bungie literally didn't want to continue making Halo games. So it is totally OK that someone else is doing them. However the diversity hire need to stop I can't cope with the catears and rainbows in Infinite anymore. Halo 5 is the best Halo multiplayer experience ever created since Halo 3 and Reach. The last true Halo as a true Halo game is console exclusive which makes overall gameplay more fair. If you loose in Halo 5 it was on you and not some cheater or Keyboard Mouse player. The progression system reminiscent of Halo 3 is definitely the best in the series. Rewarding actual skill. You can not buy a Diamond 4 Rank or whatever. The campaign is a lot better then people like to admit. Probably better than Infinites campaign. But that requires you play it in Heroic or Legendary. It has multible bioms and so what about Locke ? Halo 2 also featured Dual protagonists. The story and cutscenes in Halo 5 are insane. The music is with Halo 3's and Halo 3 ODST's music the best in the series. Halo Infinite feels more like a mix of a watered down Halo 5 and Halo Reach than Halo 3. Also promethean weapons. Didact > Esharum. Halo 5 has better villains. Heck Halo 4 and 5 have better villains than most games nowadays. Yes I Love Infinite as well. But you have perfect player movement in Halo 5. with more nuance than Titanfall. Player Collisons really are helping to give you that freaking feeling of being a spartan super soldier and not a video game character like in Infinite where you just walk through your teammates. infinite has somewhat better graphics that produce a mildly better looking game with what feels in the end like a game with less realism than Halo 5 has. Give Halo 5 a chance. Play the game and ignore the sour bungie fan mobs.

Finally, I am a critical Halo fan who actually liked Infinite's Campaign.

I think Halo infinite was a victim of console wars in the eyes of mass gaming media. gameplay was and still is great. so why it fail? i thought gameplay was king? say as u may i think if the graphics was top tier and had more biomes this would be a different story. to be honest i didnt give infinite a fair shake i let media sway me so i never completed the campaign. im just now going through the game 3 years later and im having fun with it. co-op is great

I love Halo Infinite Open world with the UNSC stuff and the Mortal reverie is my favorite location ! People just dont understand that it's the best FPS halo game since Reach.... I mean you can do whatever you want across a big map. Fly a vehicle or take your marines with you on a warthog its very very cool

Running back watching this video I remember how bad it was. I thankfully forgot, and this reminded me how bad it truly was. The fireteam stuff was completely superficial because it never worked. The story is not "bad on the surface, but good in depths", Its bad on every level from every angle. Drawing out your 'reeeeeallly's when you say you enjoy something doesnt make it more objective. So remember that last topic I talked about with the device Atirox had in his hand that unlocked the Endless in the credits scene ? The other scene I was talking about was in the beginning of the game. The Cutscene where Jega slams Termonious head into the table, and Escharum begins to say " NOT THE COVENANT, NOT THE PROPHETS, NOT HER ". When he says " NOT HER " that same device is shown in the hologram. It opens up and reveals the Harbinger insider her Cylix. That same device when opened up by Atriox, shows that same yellow Data we saw in the beginning of the Harbinger boss fight. And all the people that thought halo infinites multiplayer was finished.. It's not "" not halo the advanced movement simply isn't halo. Halo 4 and 5 were major departures from what the franchise was known for. Yes objectively if it wasn't attached to halo the multi-player and movement wouldn't be critiques nearly as much but it just didn't feel like halo at any point. Warzone was fun but the fact that microtransactions were added, and not to mention had actual weapons and varieties and the grind it took to get those packs without buying was insane. The story is a shell of a story and didn't follow through w the marketing at all aside from Locke vs Chief. Lore wise having Kelly and Fred and Linda was just perfect, if they actually did something with it. The fact there was also a fireteam when playing as Locke downplayed Blue teams significance was monumental. Somehow buck returning was actually more interesting that the first halo game to include Blue Team. Was Cortina going fully corrupt heartbreaking and sad to see? Absolutely. But she shouldn't have been there in the first place halo 5 and infinite would have been better off never having Cortana back except as like a ghost haunting chief or flashbacks godforbid. Don't even get me started on the relationship w the covenant. In 3 unsc and Covenant settle things and move on for the most part, the elites and unsc have a strong relationship. Then for some reason in 4 they're enemies again w very little to no explanation, where's arbiter? Why didn't chief ever ask anyone what happened to their relationship? Then in 5 suddenly the elites are back again but now it's reminiscent of 2 and 3 but dialed back in depth by 1000 percent because arbiter only shows up at the end, you still have friendly elites but there's still covenant against you and it's never explained. Also the entire marketing rollout was literally hyping up this huge fight between chief and Locke. Maybe chief was really wrong, maybe he did something horrible making him an enemy rather than searching for cortana. But the only time they fight it's just a cutscene. Imagine how cool it would've been if the story answered questions, morally made you see both sides, then have you pick to play as chief or Locke in a final fight?

Halo 5 beta great

The Campaign for Halo 5: Guardians is at its best when it's played in 4-player co-op, and they're all friends. You can tell it was meant to be played that way.

Actually it wasn't, and continued the trend of incredibly poor writing and hit-or-miss gameplay chasing modern twitchy shooter trends. It wasn't overhated, and the huge negative effect it had on Halo's value as an IP is a gigantic part of why Halo Infinite was rushed and now the Halo IP is on the brink of total collapse. I mean, are you just unaware of all of these goings on or just determined to pretend it's not reality lol Halo is on life support, and incredibly disappointing shitty games like Halo 5 are the reason why, you silly goose.

Don’t forget how Locke and his group were inferior Spartans but yet they somehow went toe to toe with masterchief and blue team when in reality master chief should of easily defeated Locke since he’s not only a spartan II, but THE BEST Spartan II alive!

I dig halo reach and have a forge map out of Hemmorrhage/BIG BLOOD GULCH… just a giant map to mess around on, still need to work on some safety zones in it. Reach is a very fun game and playing those firefights are pretty fun too, there’s a lot of fun details you can play with on reach as well, it’s definitely worth keeping as a very playable game IMO

I quite enjoyed the idea of base building. But to expand a bit on that concept, what if we could design every FOB as well. Or what if we could call in pelicans of reinforcements to each fob from our helmet radio? What if we could be the UNSC command presence in the Reverie's bridge? Why stop there? What if after X amount of hours in campaign, we have complete control of the ring? Lmk your thoughts

Halo 4 was my first experience into the Halo franchise. I'm still proud of that fact. Plus I got into the other games too. Not just the 343 ones. I am fair to each game. But I do criticize equally too. That's my opinion on Halo 4😊👍

Generally you covered most points i usually think about, such as those convoys and marines having more stuff to do, to make.. things more lively yeah.. i'd love that, generally the world being alive without the player having to GO somewhere to trigger something, generally all we really get is the phantom patrols and thats generally about it when it comes to the ring being ... well.. alive? I would love to see more of this sort of idea talk, i really like the perspective here.
