ASMR - stamps - trash to treasure
Приєднався 20 гру 2013
I take tatty old stamps from disorganised albums, grubby old collections etc, and pull out the ones I like best. I give them a bath, organise them, and lay them out on printed album pages. Trash into treasure.

Good morning, excellent postage stamps!
You provided no info about how to identify the different sets -- and glaringly, you said nothing about watermarks. I have been quite challenged to separate out a large collection of Germanias (there actually are four possible sets) and was really hoping for some clarification from this video beyond what Scott provides (which is not much). Disappointed. Your end result was "pretty," but told me virtually nothing.
You think I make videos for you, with the content you want? You watched the wrong video. Don't moan at me. Go find one which suits you.
@@stamps151 Whoa! My comment was meant to be constructive criticism in the hope that maybe you would provide a bit more info in future videos. If you don't want feedback, maybe you should turn the comment section off. And that's constructive criticism, too, and not meant to be snarky. Who exactly ARE you making videos for? Just curious; it's a legitimate question.
If possible let them on the paper if they have more Information than in meaning of location ,date or so far
Sorry, but I am sad to say I have had to terminate my sub to your channel. I find that your "silent movie" routine to be quite annoying.
Yes, it's beginning to be a waste of time.
Вітаю! + лайк за відео.
Would love to hear your voice and tell us more about the stamp Why you dont leave any space for the ones that you dont have have you decided not to buy anymore stamps?
Hi. Thanks for the interest and for your comments. I was close to doing a voice-over on this one but decided not to - but maybe I will start doing them. I can say more than with just captions 😀 As regards spaces, I have made full pages on some videos I have done, and then filled up what I can. The down-side is I may end up with lots of empty space, and as you suggest, I'm not planning to add more stamps. I just take what I can from the albums I have, and see what I end up with.
It's a bit of a shame about your work, because the full series would look much nicer. :)
Voiceover is NOT ASMR!
It is nice to see how your replication of John Lennon's album is growing. Interesting that the same common stamps are present in different, random collections. I liked your narration very much. You are doing it well.
Very interesting collection. I haven't revisited my album in a while. Your video is encouraging me to do just that. 😊
New subscriber here. Well done matching those pages!
Their are alot more of them,as my album is Chuck full of them!
“Vin Ordinaire.”
Sorry very ordinary……the only reason for exhibiting this album is because it was John Lennon’s. 2:19
No kidding?🤣
Great progress on the album. The Canada page with the cut square appears to have some nice condition stamps in there. The 4c Newfoundland looks especially nice -- I only seem to find grubby examples. Thanks again for sharing this project!
I am enjoying the reproduction of the John Lennon album with your commentary. Thank you for sharing.
Still need the high values to complete.
This is really a fun project, and I enjoy it with you. Even though they are probably just common stamps, it is nice that you find so many of the stamps he used in his album. Thanks for the video!
It looks like so much fun. I love how you hinged that stamp in crooked, on purpose. 😊
Good afternoon, this is a great idea for a project. I would love to see the final result.
Good afternoon, a wonderful collection.
You need to buy a stamp drying book.
Yeah, I should. I've always made do with towels, but you're right, they're not ideal.
Yes to voice overs. You have a good youtube voice!
Love the voice over
It is an excellent and original idea to recreate John Lennon's childhood stamp collection!!! You were very successful in emulating the album pages of the stamp album he used. Impressive! And you got to complete the first page you started with. All in all pretty good. I really liked the voice over. You have a soothing voice, and speaks well. Regardless what you do, I will still watch your videos.
Nice idea for an album. Looking forward to watching it develop. :)
Voiceovers - if someone is watching for the ASMR aspect, they would probably opt for the no-voice version, to get the ASMR vibes. However, I also like your narratives. So I would suggest maybe doing a set of ASMR vids with no voice, alongside a second set of vids with voice narration. So you would have two types of content on your channel, aimed at slightly different sets of people. Some people will watch both... like me :)
What a neat idea! I love your new pages; you captured the feel of the original quite well. Now you just need wait 70 years for the pages to yellow. :) PS - love the voice overs! I'd suggest doing as you please, I'll watch regardless, but I enjoyed the narration very much.
Wow. You actually have a nice and clear voice! You should definitely do voice overs. Cheers!
Thanks for another interesting video ! Not surprising, it seems the higher values are missing from many collections. Research would probably find that there were a lot less high value stamps printed, thus their higher value.
I like it when you make spaces for a complete set and fill it up with what you have. This time was good. You almost got all of them. 🙂Thanks for the video!
Sadly, most of them have poor cancellations.
ein Trauerspiel
Would love to see some Austrian series they have beautiful definitives
Great shout. Austria has issued some superb stamps over the years. My second-ever video was Austria: ua-cam.com/video/ISF8SNAGeOc/v-deo.html Any series you'd particularly like to see? I can see if I have the right ones and maybe do a vid on them.
Nice! Almost got them all! :)
Another enjoyable video. Thanks! The final pages always look so attractive! You got many stamps of each set. Excellent. I love African stamps with African fauna!
Unless I miss my guess…you do a great job of collecting random stamps . Do you add these to a larger world album? 9:03
Hi. When I started the channel a few months back, I began an album at that point. Every time I make a new video the pages get added, so gradually building a world album just from these.
Is there a special reason for drying the stamps face up? Beautiful stamps.
Hi. No real reason, except I tend to do some general sorting while I go, so I need to see the fronts of the stamps. Like in this video, I place all the QEII stamps together to the right. I've never really thought about which way up they should go. Any views on that?
@@stamps151 just that if all of the gum has not been removed the stamps will be stuck down and need to be soaked again.
imo, the black and yellow featuring the lion is one of the most beautiful postage stamps from Africa. Thank you for sharing these cool stamps with us!
Yeah, it's great. Not engraved, like the others - a bit of a departure really.
Another excellent video! These sets have some legitimate high values which are unlikely to ever cross my path. Thanks for the inspiration to focus on the stamp I have! I'm curious, if you get another feeder album that has some of the 'missing' stamps, will you redo the album page? PS - I'd love to watch a video where you flip through your album of completed pages. Even every dozen videos or so to watch your momentum grow as the album fills up! 💖
Not the plan, no. I have obtained some new feeder albums since I started and found some stamps I would have included, if I'd had them at the start - but except for a couple where I laid out my pages with blank spaces for missing ones (Spain comes to mind), I will just consider the page 'done' and leave it there. Otherwise, I may be re-doing them forever!
what kind of hinges are you using?
Just standard Prinz hinges.
@@stamps151 Thanks!
Nice, very nice!!! 🤩
How many countries do you collect and how many pages for each one, are they older or modern? When folk see or ask about my collections they always ask are they valuable and if not why? They then ask why collect if not worth much, they don't understand the value is in the learning and joy in collecting. I get as much joy if not more than they do going to football matches or other things (I'm not against any hobby), there are some very insular folk about, thanks for your video's.
Hi. Glad you like the videos. My main collection is British Commonwealth up to early 1960s, and also Great Britain Machins, but I have a basic world collection too. What you see in these vids is a self-contained project - trying to find beauty or interest in stamps which might otherwise be overlooked or thrown out. I'm with you on the fun aspect. That's all it is to me. I have no interest in value, and as you'll see in the videos, even flaws don't bother me, so long as the stamp isn't disfigured. You can make them look nice just by giving them some TLC.
I love the stamps of Tuva. I first came across them as a child and was instantly hooked. There's just something about them.
Beautifully done. I enjoy all your videos. i like the way you're using and placing all sets of stamps onto the printed papers. Great job done my friend.
i USE A A6 NOTEBOOK AND TWO 18MM THICK PIECES OF PRESSWOOD CUT EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE NOTEBOOK WITH TWO SMALL 50MM G-CLAMPS. PLACING THE DRIED CURLED STAMPS INTO DIFFERENT PAGES .WITH THE WOOD BLOCKS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE NOTEBOOK, I CLAMP THEM FIRMLY FOR ONLY THREE DAYS AND WHEN I REMOVE THEM, THEY LOOK LIKE NEW.
Great that you got the whole set. The stamps together as a set are very lovely. Beautiful colours! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
You sure have some nice old albums to pick through ! Good whomever assembled those albums used real hinges..... I've encountered glue, cellophane tape and even a strip of a mint stamp used as a hinge. Thanks for sharing these great map stamps with us !
The stamps indeed looked very nice on their new pages. For me the verdict about CTO stamps are still out. I cannot decide how much tolerance I have for them. Thanks for a good video!!!
I really do not like CTO "stamps" .... very few in my collection. Thanks for the video !
Super 👍👍👍
They do look nicer the wrong way
