2009 Nissan Murano AC Clutch 288,000 miles. Self-Diagnostic for AC Clutch
My 2009 Nissan Murano with 288, 000 miles the AC suddenly stop cooling. I did a visual inspection on the air hoses to make sure nothing was broken or a pipe exploded I did not find any indications of this been the case. I also checked to make sure there was pressure on the hoses just to make sure I did not leak the refrigerant that was not the case. I checked the relay on the hood and it was making the clicking noise. I checked the ac compressor clutch and it was not engaging that could be the problem a compressor or a clutch?
I bought an amazon clutch and that seems to fix the issue its been 2 months since I made the video and its still working. Happy wife! Happy Life! Thanks for looking into this video I tried looking for help on UA-cam but there were no videos I could find so I recorder my own hope fully I can help other owners. Also “DeWalt did not sponsor this video”

My 2009 Nissan Murano with 260,000 miles on it was making noise when turning to the left or right side it was getting louder. The fluid was correct no leaks or missing fluid. I decided to change the steering pump. Difficulty on this repair is not great its just too reduce spaces to work on. If you attempt to do this be ready to spend time trying to get bolts with low view and small spaces. I re...

Vintage Tyco extreme car slot track, with loop, HO Scale,
Thanks for the help. Just finished mine. I NEVER want to do that job again… we need to start a support group for ptsd from these damn cars!
I have the same year doesn’t overheat but motor fans aren’t coming on any ideas?
Amazing simple and easy to follow DIY video for me to replace my A/C Clutch on my 2010 Murano. I thank Jesus Christ for your goodness in sharing this with all of us! God Bless you!
Thank you for this video I followed your diagnosis steps and replaced my clutch myself, you saved me a lot of grief and money
I've got the pump on mine where it will move but just won't come out but can't figure it out even with this video
i tried and i works thanks
Does the self diagnosis tell you if the ac clutch is out or do you just have to listen for it?
I like this MC 350 jig kit. You’ll get better results, especially with the hinges , if you have a larger base on your trim router.
I have a 2012, there’s an electrical connection in the way of the far left bolt. Do you know how to disconnect it?
Timeless video. Still serving the public. It was very helpful in preparing to do this job myself. Thanks!!
Do you have the ebay site where you bought clutch
It's a struggle but thank you for making some kind of video for it.
Thanks man
I just fixed mine cause the serpentine belt ripped off and when I picked it up the power steering was extremely hard!I checked the oil deposit and it was full but nothing was moving!!
How did you remove the rear bolt?
Thank you. I had the same problem finding a video that shows how to use the Milescraft Hingemate on an existing door jamb with a door stop. Thanks for showing me it will work for my door repair. I'm surprised Dremel doesn't make a smaller routing plate attachment since Dremels are a lot easier to use for such jobs than the router. Their current router base attachment is too big for jambs with door stop
hasn't anyone noticed the two holes that need to be patched and painted?
That's what I was going to ask.
Those are the screw holes from the Hingemate.
Great info. Thanks.
What size bit did you use
It comes with the kit. It has a guard on it for drilling thr pilot holes.
My car has a slight vacuum leak and the only issue I found is that there’s no click do you think that could be the issue
You lost me with that fucking annoying beeper, see ya
it did not cut the strike flush you can see it is not flush
I’m hyped about this. I was ready to replace the whole compressor along with evacuating the system & recharging. I’ll come back and post my results.
Just an update, It worked like a charm. I had to keep adding spacers to keep the clutch from sticking but it worked. Amazon had the kit in the $50 range. No need to open ac system.
I tried and it worked. Thanks so much Bro!!
It actually works!!. Wow!
I had no idea about this feature. My son's Murano ac clutch makes a faint clicking noise but doesn't engage. Thanks for the video.
Did the clutch fix the issue? Is it cold air now
Did you watch the video, dumdum?
You might just be a regular dude trying to fix his car, but videos like these help out a lot! Thanks for posting, i might be attempting this soon
I have all my bolts out but cannot get the pump out.The bracket is in the way and bolts to it are not where I can get too.
Hey bro Thanks for sharing this video really appreciated.
Anyone got advice on how to remove the 16mm from the back i cant break it free with the little room given.
Updates please
Really hard to get out I remove the tensioner to finally get out
Where is the 13mm located on back
i have the same vehicle and same problem. happens whenever the temp gets cold in autumn. starting to get worse. I live in NE in US. what i have learned from all this is i will never buy a Nissan ever again. the difficulties you guys are experiencing are similar to changing the nissan brake pads. who puts a support bar to block access to the calipers? nissan does.
How mich is the cost to replace a pump pls?? I have a problem with a nissan murano 2009
They quoted me $1050 for labor and $680 for parts! I am doing it myself.
@@madobosz did you do it yourself?
It' worked!

Just did one on a 2011 Murano. Nothing but issues. It was a pain in the ass.
Nice vid, thx! FYI everybody: a fluid flush -- or -- conditioner additiive __can__ correct a noisy pump. It is worth a try before you go to the work and expense of a pump replacement. Again, it __can__ correct the problem. --- Didn't say 'always'.
To answer those who think he didn’t set the depth deep enough. He did, he just didn’t countering behind the strike plate holes where they’re punched or pressed through.
Wasted 1 hour trying to pull this out till I watch this video Removed the 2 bolts for the PS bracket and it literally fell out Thanks mate
I removed the belt tensioner completely, working it forwards then out towards the firewall. Alot of cussing as swearing was involved, but now to go get smokes to relax. What a waste of a Sunday.
I bought this a few years ago. Alignment is only good on new construction. So many situations it doesn’t work. The good news is that when it works it’s outstanding.
Nice job!
Watching this gave me a migraine along with severe anxiety
Not helpful at all.
Surprised the cvt transmission didn't fail with that many miles.
My 09 Maxima has 228,000+ miles.... Cars last a good while if you take care of them.
I have taken out all 5 bolts, 3 on the front bracket and 2 on the back bracket. I still can not get the pump removed. It is however very very loose. Do I need to remove the long top bolt on the back in order to remove the pump? Any help is greatly appreciated.
There are 2 13 mm bolts that hold the bracket in place on the top right side of the pulley you have to remove the one on the left and loosen the one on the right in order to loosen the bracket enough to get the pump off. You do Not need to remove the 16 mm bolt behind the pump just get it loose. Bolts you need to completely remove. 2 bolts behind pump 3 bolts behind pulley, 1 bolt on right top side of the bracket holding the pump. Not an easy job.
@@martingalicia4156 thank you for the reply. Sure was one heck of a job. Ended up having a neighbor help and he was able to get it out and the replacement on. Thank you for the video !
I'm currently working on replacing my power steering pump on my '09 murano and I noticed that some of the bolts are 12mm. The top bolts are hard to access, but having a speedwrench made it much easier to work them out.
Update: Getting that top bolt for the bracket out is considerably easier if you take the idler pulley off as well.
fyi, this should apply to 7th generation Maximas too. working on mine now. thanks so much for the time to document and share, it makes work a little easier having some idea of what to expect going in. dunno if i have a flat enough 13 for them two bolts way up on the front side.
