Ep. 09 Klöße/Knödel
These Knödel are a mix of Kartoffelknödeln and Semmelbröseln but if you only want to make normal potato Knödel you can leave the Croutons away!

Recipe (10-12 Knödel):
- 1kg potatoes
Cook them with them without peeling for about 20min until soft
Mashed them 2x with a potato masher so that they are compact smooth (you can either peel them before mashing them or mash them with the skin because the skin will automatically stick to the potato masher
- 1-2 bread rolls/sandwich bread (it can be hard and old)
Cut into cubes
- Chunk of butter
- Salt to taste
Melt the butter in a pan, than add the bread and season it with the salt
Fry them until golden brown and crispy
- 150g potato starch
- Salt to taste (be generous with it)
- 2 eggs
Add everything together with the Croutons to the mashed potatoes and mix until it forms a dough
Shape the Knödel
Heat up some salt water and add the Knödel to the water and let them simmer for about 20min until they are swimming
They taste best with Rotkohl and gravy
