Nice!! In all my attempts I’ve never been able to beat him with both ansbach and thiollier. I feel like he gets such a big HP boost with both summons in there and all thiollier does is try to poison him and with 2 summons in the fight I’m pretty sure he’s immune to poison. Love that mimic got the kill after you died that was great 🤣

This was my introduction to Spider-Man on top of being the first video game I ever played.

I like playing this together, although split screen was annoying, I wish we had time and ability to play together mm fun game

If you use the “make contact” gesture (you don’t have it….your cohost told you to do a thing in the upper cathedral ward to get it but you refused) at the brain it gives you the strongest moon rune. If you kill it you get the living string which is used to access the final chalice dungeon.

You killed poor Gilbert to get the clawmark rune. He’s an NPC and if you talk to him as you progress through the game he gets sicker and sicker until he eventually turns into a beast 😢

Dude you only have one mandatory boss left to end the game! I am assuming DLC is off the table lol. Hopefully you find something useful if you do end up checking out my guide. I think intentionally "playing the game the wrong way" backfired a bit on your enjoyment. It's funneled you into using comparatively weak weapons and you missed quite a bit from not talking to any NPCs and intentionally avoiding questlines. I saw at 2:15:41 you are doing 321 damage with your cane. I went back and checked my "speedruns" and by the end I am level 75 doing 470 damage with my primary weapon. The cane is maybe a bit faster than the saw cleaver for example, but not by much. You did put some levels into strength which didn't help you much as the cane benefits much more on scaling from skill. I think you've got an A scaling on skill and E for strength. Also this game does pigeonhole you into a certain playstyle more than other games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls. With a few exceptions, this game is geared more towards melee combat. I believe you like sorcerer builds more and yes this game does require fairly quick reaction times based on the faster paced combat and primarily melee focus. That said, you can basically break the game by leveling Arcane super high with a weapon that you put fire or lightning gems on. I don't believe Arcane has a soft cap so taking advantage of arcane scaling and the hunters tools that use arcane (like auger, call beyond, etc) with a very high arcane stat does crazy damage and also gives you some range. There is a tool called executioners gloves that you can get from Cainhurst Castle that is very OP with a high arcane stat and is long range. I get it - not everyone will enjoy this game. It just so happens that the playstyle the game wants you to use happens to suit my strengths as a player very well naturally. But at least you gave it a fair shot and stuck with it for better or worse.

Looking at the last episode and this episode, the last episode wasn't bad quality "must just be the youtube app on my tv" but this one is also a slight bit better.

The go straight from archstone to archstone was only added to the remake. Didn’t exist in the original I don’t believe. Also in the original only way to put stuff in storage was to physically visit stockpile Thomas in the nexus lol

Sucks that you don’t seem to be enjoying this game much. Not everyone’s cup of tea I guess. You do seem to be struggling in ways that i don’t for whatever reason. Can’t explain why but dark souls gives me way more trouble. I find it much more difficult than this game.

The constant difficulty spikes was not my experience at all. Might have something to do with the fact you picked by far the worst starter weapon and then never changed from your starter weapon.

You can definitely explore this place. Just way too panicky. You ran right past some of the bell maidens in a frenzy. There is only one of them that is somewhat hidden. Tracks with the game though. When Rom is killed the veil is lifted and there is no barrier between you and the eldritch horror that has surrounded you the whole game unknown to you. Supposed to drive you mad!!

Now that you bought the hunters chief emblem….. I’ll explain. Progression is locked by either: beating the cleric beast which unlocks the hunter chief emblem in the shop (unlocks gate blocking circular cemetery in cathedral ward) OR beating blood starved beast which opens the door in oedon chapel that you went thru with the elevator and the drop down puzzle which ultimately gets you behind the gate so you can open it from behind.

Did you ever explore around the area where you beat darkbeast paarl?

Ahhhh man. The lore behind gascoigne. Mostly uncovered by talking to NPCs and that red jeweled brooch you used to get the blood gem. Literally the most unrelentingly tragic storyline I’ve seen in a video game.

Gascoigne fight did not disappoint. Nice backstab on his beast form… that is tough to pull off. Can’t believe you are playing this with a torch always on your off hand 😂

Saw cleaver is the best weapon in the game. Felt physical pain when you chose the cane 😆

Monumental only gives you the ring if you are pure white character tendency.
