Brilliant video and some great movies in your collection, I nearly imported the Arrow release of the Last starfighter but then found out its getting a UK release finally, can't wait to pick that up, hopefully they will also release The Warriors and the Conan films later on down the line. I’ve bought 101 films’ BD, and it’s only with main feature(and the quality of video is⋯⋯let’s just say ⋯⋯so so）. I just can’t wait mines MVD BD which on the way to mine hand.

I got my copy yesterday

I have a Spanish Blu-ray that came out a couple of years ago, i think it was made from the old Laser disc as its source. Not watched it yet but i believe it looks great. I will pick the 4K up and try and watch both to see which one is better. Did you say the Blu-ray in your set is better and do you prefer the 4K? Thanks for your review.

Good stuff Duncan. Haven't seen it in years but yes mind it being very solid Bronson outing. Quality behind camera with Siegel & Lalo scoring. Growing up in my house early to late 80's it was Hackman, Eastwood, Bronson & James Bond all the way. My dad was very much a no fuss cinema (meat & potatoes) man. Liked his action thrillers, westerns. So I grew up with with these guys. Cinema was so much better then I think, when you really were a fan of a particular actor. Mr Majestyk, White Buffalo, The Mechanic, Chato's Land etc also quality. Eastwood & Bronson no doubt not the best actors ever. But boy they had charisma...camera loved them. Hackman is a great actor + charisma....sorry I'm ramblings...doing a lot of nostalgic reminiscences at mo🤔😀. Watched Dead Pool other night and remember, seeing it in convenience store and renting video with the cool gun barrel....1989 holiday in Ullapool Scotland, fun times. Nice channel man, cool stuff. You bring back memories🤗👍.

One of my favourite films growing up in the Eighties. I do still need to pick this 4K up but i do own the US remastered Blu-ray that includes the Burt Reynolds documentary, i was told that its missing from the Blu-ray included in this set, don't know if that's right or not.

Eye of the tiger has only just been released in the UK and i really enjoyed it, Gary Busey made the film like you said and its a shame he didn't really do good guy rolls, I do think William Smith was underused in this movie. Only watched Snake Eyes once and really enjoyed it, need to give that a rewatch.

A film i still don't own, excellent film and i really like that steelbook.

Great video, remember a good few of these films. The one i totally forgot about and remember it being good was Crackerjack, will keep a lookout for that one. You should do an update video on this just to see if any more films need updating.

The reviewer probably doesn´t know that it´s not Shout´s fault regarding the picture quality. They got the master by Warner Bros. Maybe the picture quality would have been better if Shout would have gotten a 4k scan from the original camera negative but they didn´t.

Probably the worst picture quality of any Charles Bronson blu-ray. The movie never looked better but it´s far away from looking good. The picture is soft, it lacks sharpness. There´re scenes that look quite good but mostly the picture quality isn´t good at all. I would rate the blu-ray: 6/10.

There is no comparison. One is a classic and the other is a forgotten piece of shit.

The first two American Ninja films are definitely the best of the franchise, I often think when i see him in films how big Steve James could of been if he was still with us, the guy could act. if you have a region free player 88 Films released four of them on Blu-ray and parts 3 and 4 are both cheap to get now.

I am more familiar with AN 2, I had it recorded off Showtime in like ‘88, or 89. I agree, it’s more fun, and plays like a live action comic book. Joe, is like a stealth super hero, and is a little more comfortable in his shell from the original. I always wonder why Dudikoff didn’t do a 3rd film. I think he mentioned he wanted to pursue other things and not necessarily be just this character. I just would’ve loved to see Joe, and Jackson do another film one last time. Kino was probably smart in releasing the 2 most popular films first, and justify whether they should release 3, and 4.

Watched this a couple of weeks back and still really enjoyed it, We have all the films released by 88 Films in the U.K, remember enjoying the first two but never watched the others with the main actor getting changed. Thinking about getting them now for my collection.

Right on! I am from Jersey, so I definitely remember WPIX 11 played American Ninja back in the early 90s. I even recorded a showing of American ninja off channel 11 back then. I even remember it had a promo for Ninja 3: the domination to be played and it looked epic! When I saw it played on channel 5, it had extended scenes that were cut from channel 11. I soon realized I never saw it fully until I got the VHS, since tv had to edit a few scenes for time, etc. I will definitely get this version with the cool slipcover. I am guessing there isn’t a new 4k scan otherwise it should’ve got a 4k. Do you think it’s a slightly better picture being Kino put it on a 50gb disc?

Watched this forgotten gem on tv a couple of month's back and really enjoyed it, Think its a better film now then when it was first released. The artwork does look cheap in my opinion, I do think actors are not allowed when they are striking but then they should have old special features that they could have used. definitely a film for my collection but with this one being expensive to import i will probably pick up a cheaper German release if they have one lol.

Next to Stone Cold one of my favorite movies as a kid. Love ice t. Great cast.

Based on the preview image to the video and the box itself I also thought this was a review of a DVD and not a BD/4K BD based on the case alone. For collectors and physical media junkies this the package is sub-par. Good review!

Can you watch it for free

I was shocked when VS decided to release this on 4K! I recorded it from cable back in the early 90s. I had to track down a dvd from Canada years ago. I think it was sourced from the laserdisc.

I quit Best Buy when they trashed cds. Nothing but a computer and appliance store now. I order my cds and DVDs online now from Amazon and eBay. A better selection. My music collection and movie collection isn't going anywhere. Best Buy is gonna be bankrupt in a few years. Who remembers HH Gregg lol

You were pretty spot on in your analysis of the whole best buy situation. I would guess Walmart will probably take lead in offering more physical media in stores and will be the main retailer with those exclusive steelbooks.

I think big stores like this were destined to stop selling physical media as soon as streaming became a popular thing. As much as I don't like the current disinterest in purchasing physical media, I also think this will benefit smaller businesses selling either new or used stuff. Sort of like the fall of Gamestop. I frequently visit my local used game shop and he always has everything I need, and he seems to be doing alright being a solo business owner. Personally I don't think they'll ever truly stop selling physical media, because a lot of streaming platforms are not profitable. Disney+ hasn't even made a profit yet. I don't see them lasting long, but the small shops will thrive.

We need a sequel to Cyborg.

Another reason to buy physical copies: it protects against censorship in the event some of these streaming services decide to remove scenes they deem politically incorrect. It’s happened before.

Great review as always buddy, do enjoy these video's you make of films no one really talks about, I didn't like this one when i first watched it but i have just picked it up again for another watch, i do think Van Damme still tries to give 100% in his movies, including his low budget ones.
