Ive been thinking of doing this but had a question, and hopefully youll still respond with your opinion since this is 2 years old. If i did a cab only body and left the rear end open, do you think you could swap the mounting plates from side to side (so the cantilever is in the front) to still run my 90 mm desert lizard shocks and have a lot more articulation in the rear?
You should be able to swap the plates side to side. You probably need to swap the rockers also. You’ll need to check that the holes line up, but drilling a new hole won’t be hard if you have to. Because of the leverage, you might need to tune your existing Shocks. Might need to add preload to stiffen them. I hope that helps. Good luck, thanks for commenting.

Built mime last week. Then I saw all the videos about how the Stock servo horn is insufficient. Had me concerned for a day. But I took it for the first test drive. And the stock servo horn is just fine. Great turning radius. About three foot circle. Don't believe everything you see on UA-cam 😅😅😅

I build and race both mini 4wd and (tamiya and kyosho) rc, and i just learned about the existence of this kit. Gotta say that the engineering is a mix of both world. Really blew my mind knowing Tamiya experimented with that.

I’ve had a traxxas 4x4 for 2 weeks. And a big tip is to not put motor wires in that clap. They get so hot from the motor it transfer heat to the esc.
the body isnt original, but yes, it is a late 70s Latrax LTX-40 Corvette.

@@RustydriftRC So..I have the transporter and I'm shopping for parts to upgrade to proportional throttle and steering. I'd appreciate advice if you have any. Additionally I bought the B24 KM kit from WPL and some add-ons for both trucks like canvas bed covers. I've been playing with RC boats for a few years but ground vehicles are new to me.
@@theodoreolson8529 boats and ground vehicles are pretty similar in parts and concept. Look for a cheap micro servo and small 20amp esc. If you shop around combine they should run about $20. Your need a new radio/receiver also. I use a FlySky radio, they are cheap and so are extra receivers.(receivers are under $10 and I use the one radio for many different cars.) At that point, everything will plug together and you just need to hide it all under the body. You will probably have to solder a new connector to the battery or Esc so they match

I think they are the same size. They seem to be 2.2" buggy wheels at the rear. I measured the diameter, but not the width, might be a few mm difference in width, not sure

No original tracks. I've added a little weight inside, but the motors get hot with to much weight.
I did this and now on axel is too short

thumbs up. I've seen other options on Tamiya forum. This seems to be on top of the best idea list. I've read that those adapters are terrible, so your way is the way to go. I will be doing this on the Tamiya DT03. I hope upper arm and lower arm have the same width where you screw, otherwise I'll have to adapt this for my situation. What is the width of your upper and lower arm ?
Thanks. I have the other adapters on my Blackfoot to run Slash wheels. This is a much better solution though. The opening in the upper and lower and is about 10mm. I did file there lower part of the caster block and use a spacer on top, so if the DT-03 arms are different, it shouldn't be too hard to adapt.
I'm placing my order now with your references. Just one thing, what is the reference (size) of the hinge pin you used to connect steering block and caster block. Cheers
I don't remember the size. I bought the steering blocks and castor blocks together as an assembly. There are still a few sellers that offer them that way as takeoffs from new cars.

Yes this should work on circuit. The chassis of the circuit is different than the torment and ruckus, but the other parts (suspension, transmission mounts, shock towers) are the same.
