According to Māori oral traditions and archeological evidence some waka arrived much earlier than historians believed, some descend from the fairy tribes who used to occupy this land and others are remembered to have come on the backs of whales, stingrays, and the like. You briefly touched on te tiriti o Waitangi but even before that was the he whakaputanga which was a Declaration of Independence written by the chiefs of he whakaminenga in 1835. 5 years later the British came to Russell in the bay of islands to establish an official presence for the empire and hastily write up a contract that would take away the sovereignty of not just the chiefs but the self determination of all Māori and our right to rule ourselves. The treaty established the rules for purchasing land from tribes with an official appointed by the queen, but the process of land acquisition was taking too long and costing too much for the queens liking so in response to growing hostilities between the crown and tribes from the spread of diseases, the raping of women and human trafficking, drug and alcohol trade, and the disregard for tapu, these compiled and in the 1860s war broke out in the north and spread like wildfire engulfing the whole country. To fund the war the crown confiscated Māori land. This was a breach in the afore mentioned tiriti o Waitangi. It is important to note that te tiriti o Waitangi and the treaty of Waitangi do not say the same things. This was untruthfully written in this way so that Māori would sign something they wouldn’t have, interestingly though almost all Māori signed the te reo Māori copy and according to international law the indigenous language version is the legal binding document. In te tiriti we cede kāwanatanga (a word translated from governance) in the treaty it says the chiefs cede their sovereignty to the queen as the sole sovereigns of their territory. But te tiriti says Māori retain our lands, our settlements and all our taonga or treasures

Re NZ being missing from maps, I recall in Cold War days seeing a map with no NZ in the background of a Kremlin speaker. I was very pleased.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬ ROMANS 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:10‬ ‭ God wants us to believe in His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins :D When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life with God, we are saved from the eternal fire and have eternal life in Christ Jesus!! 💖 May God bless you all! 🕊💞

It’s funny that you touched that subject, who’s Mexico’s bff. I’m of Mexican descent, and I’m aware with what goes on in Mexico, and Mexicans see themselves as they’re on their own. I’ve dealt with other people from Latin America, and they tend to have respect for Mexico, but they don’t consider it as being part of the club. Canada and USA don’t really see Mexico as North America because it’s poorer, it has a different language, and it doesn’t have a common ancestry. Central Americans don’t see Mexico one of them for whatever reason… there’s a saying in Spanish that Mexicans say and take pride in, “Como Mexico no hay dos!” “There’s isn’t another country like Mexico!”..

Well, it's debatable Italian peninsula started as one political entity in the 19th century. The Roman's united all the peninsula as single polítical and/or administrative entity that had citizen rights long before the rest of the empire. Italy did exist as an entity

Great vid, I enjoyed your geographical takes. I must say though, @5:31 this is an inaccurate take. Minerals are an important part of the economy, but South Africa also has a massive, globally competitive financial sector, a fairly large and developed retail sector that's dominated by local firms, a decent IT sector, and a bit of a large manufacturing base. It's economy is somewhat multilayed.

The first Italian state wasn’t born in 1861. It was in 476 AD under King Odoacer. Then for example in 888 AD there was the Kingdom of Italy after the Carolingian Empire dissolved. Modern Italy was indeed born in 1861 but it was not the first State as this video claims.
