The term colorism was being used since I was a little kid and I’ve been here since the 80s. Yes black oriole can be colorist against lighter skinned people. We do take out frustrations on lighter skinned people. Sometimes it’s warranted because we do get picked on by lighter skinned people. Ive never seen a lighter woman physically abused by a darker woman for her skin color but I have seen them talked about and hated on for being light skinned so I know it happens. I’ve also seen the reverse.So I’m a dark skinned woman that’s agreeing with you and calling it bullshit when that is said. My only issue with light skinned channels is I’ve never seen a single one own up to how I’ve seen them treat darker skinned people. 😂 This is ridiculous. Ive never taught my son to worship blackness. My husband and his love for black women and our culture has taught our biological son (we adopted 5 black children) to love his blackness. His dad didn't teach him directly but our son just picked up on it by observation. I didn't realize it was a competition. Im a mixed (not biracial) black woman and this divisiveness is why there will never be a golden community. Us black women tend to have more pride in our community than blk men, that is another reason why our children tend to be more proud of our race and culture.
