Vanbuild timelapse - Ford Custom #vanbuild #campervan #diy
My DIY Vanbuild with a 7 year old Ford Transit Custom bought from a bricklayer and tiler so there were concrete and dust all over the place that had hardened of the humidity in the van. So I had to start with a lot of cleaning before starting. After I got it insulated then my profession comes in. Interior carpentry :)

Concrete Loudspeaker

Here I show you how to make a 4-part mold in fibre glass to be able to get all the angles out of a round speaker with the front baffle and even the bassreflex port. All built out of an industrial floor lamp that painters use in big constructions. I just saw that shape of it and thought that would be great for my smaller Sphere speakers.(video of that in my channel) The kevlar cone speaker is an...

I got a new package for the next upcoming projects and have a pair of sphere BT speakers now that it is time to mount all electronic parts in and then also thinking of making a D’appolito speaker in a tube with a flat MDF-front and then maybe wrap it in some kind of fabric. I have to make a test of that wrapping part first ;) #loudspeakers #monacor #unboxing #diy #build #design monacor-webshop....
Bamboo box Loudspeaker

I found 2 bamboo bowls at H&M Home dept, for 5$ each and thought it would be a good resonance free casing for these midrange speakers . Those are bought at Amazon . Filter and Tweeter as well. Cheap China stuff, but ended up surprisingly good! I’m very satisfied with the result for that low cost! #diy #synthwave #build #loudspeakers #music

Great work! Can you share the speaker plans and the crossover schematics?
Thanks man. The measurements are 40sec in to the video and the crossover is on a link in the description
I did not understand the process.
It is just an inspirational video to use creativity. Not a tutorial
Звук мощный, но задушенный - сч/вч тракт нужен обязательно
Sorry! Can’t read!
There are new filament types now, without internal resonances, which allow to 3d print a whole cabinet from start to finish
My new idea is aircrete to get a lower vibration resonance and lighter than concrete as the sub speaker I did
@@mackemacchiato3238 Could be an option though. Don't forget to insulate it with some liquid rubber/silicone cause you'll have dust inside after some time (and it such water from an air like a pump)
@@sc0or yes, one can mix some coating like polyester and brush it. The concrete sub I have made as u see in the channel does not dust, but aircrete might.
I found a good video about it. ”Building Exceptional speakers using modern techniques”. Check that out :)
@@mackemacchiato3238 Yep. I saw it, thanks. A smart guy and interesting scenarios each time.
I didnt undestand the process at all? Where was the form for outer an inner shell? What tha hack just happend? Where did the Concret come from? Why no Explaination?
I used a special techinique to pour and reinforce the concrete and this is not an instructional video. More inspiring. Since it would be weird if Volvo did videos how to do the EV Polestar car… sort of…
so where is the cement, I dont see any being mixed or poured?
Some business techniques. It is an inspirational video. Not to put myself out if business and show competitors how to do it…. Since it is not patened
Helo
So are there actual "sonic differences" between a spherical enclosure compared to that of a traditional "cube" or elongated "box shaped" speaker cabinet?? I would assume that the density of the concrete would definitely help, just wondering about the "shape"...
The round shape helps remove resonance and the “shell” vibrating. Egg shell principle . Strong but one can still keep it thin. A globe reduced standing waves inside and reduces unwanted noise. Mostly in higher frequencies, so the round shape is for the strength and mostly for design. Easy to furnish and to look at in a home instead of a black cube as the mainstream producers sells :) I also made one out of a hemp basket 🧺, with concrete inside.
Que som de qualidade, parabéns.
Nice job dude 👍🏽
Super 👍👍👍
Prochain projet pour vous les fameuses grundig audiorama 😊
So much for cabinet resonances!
monacor ?
Yes it is! You have the specifications in the latest video where I make these but in another colour 👍🏼
The high tweeter is too sharp. And the voices do not have volume
It sounds perfect! It is recorded with an iPhone 8 that has a limited microphone. So nothing you say is correct.
@@mackemacchiato3238 Then you should go to the ear doctor
@@bennip.5009 iPhone8 dude
@@bennip.5009 i have had people here listening to them.. you are the one that is wrong and can’t admit that your judgement was totally irrational since you judge something recorded with an old iPhone
@@mackemacchiato3238 I build expensive speakers myself, and my ears are very good, no matter what phone you use, my ears hear it.
Fantastiskt snyggt!!
Fantàstic work!!
This is legendary level skills. How the fuck did you think about making such mold ma. Wow. Ingenious.
Thanks man! I was just looking for some kind of sphere I could make a mold of and asked around . Because round shapes gets No standing waves inside, so it is very strong and ”dead” and perfect for a Loudspeaker :)
@@mackemacchiato3238 yeah but only needed for tweeters & upper mids as wavelengths at lower freq are way too long to form a standing wave inside a normal enclosure. Thats why most subs are square shaped. & that b&w 800 series has that tweeter enclosure.
@@datdudeinred tweeters doesn’t need any enclosure at all. Only a baffle to spread the sound. A sphere shape is stronger than a rectangular. Hence eggs beeing strong but beeing thin. So, doing a round shape save volume but still stronger = resonance free than a box.

inspiring piece of video! love the high gloss! is it a metalic paint? grtz E
Cool, how many hours did it take you to build the spheres ?

Ese diseño es HI-END para mi una de las mejores geometrías acústicas para baja y media potencia en entorno del hogar, solo que hubiera incluido material amortizante acustico internamente para evitar exceso de resonancia . This design is HI-END for me, one of the best acoustic geometries for low and medium power in the home environment.only that it would have included acoustic damping material internally to avoid excess resonance.
Hello! Maybe it is not shown in the video, but all walls are covered with a 4cm foam dampening:) thank you for watching !
Τ line speakers stuck in corners, in cupboards, on uneven height and one behind a sofa? Of course the spherical speakers will sound cleaner with more precise bass while the T-lines will sound boomy and diffused. But a good T-line in a room that can take the bass, will run circles around any bass reflex in bass extension and delineation of plucks, wood tones and low pitch harmonics.
You would believe so , but that is not the case….
Btw a sealed vs a tline which will be better for sub bass & bass? Isn't sealed is still faster & tighter than tline?
@@datdudeinred good point! There is still a resistance in a T-line to get the air out of it making it responsive even in the mid-bass range! Even though as the former commented say about the sofa , the T-line still sounds better and the placement in the room is incredibly crucial.
Vey nice. I love working with composites and making molds. Once getting used to the nature of the materials, the possibilities are endless.
Great result! Where do you calculate the port size? And do you have any final fs measurements?
Hello! I have bought a calibration mic but haven’t had time to det it up, since I got the wrong type of mic and need a pre-amp to it before connecting it to a computer. But the audio is actually amazing! The stereo spread is insane and fills up even a 50sqm room
can you make me a set of these? I woykd like to but a set
I would love to but these are more like prototypes and not with industrial molds. Polyester hardens all the time and never stops, so I have noticed a glitch right at the line dividing the 2 halfs. To make it industrial and get it homogenic I should 3D-Scan it and make injection-tool. So it feels bad sending a couple away with a risk that can happen. (Friends have bought some with knowledge of this, so that is how far I have gone with selling these)
very interesting
Great job
Great
Great job
Do you any goo t Lin designs?
You mean like a paper document? I did those on a whim. But they turned out so good, so I will do another pair soon with another look/colour.
I agree with you on the T lines. Built a set from a kit (parts Express Tri Trix). I felt certain, due to the bately 5" drivers that I would have to add a sub. Even though I was just using them to replace the TV speaker in my bedroom. While they certainly don't reach down into the 30's, the bass is surprisingly good and tight. This makes me wonder how 7 or 8 inch drivers would sound in a T line box.
I think one needs to have it stiffer and a longer Tube to give the resistance behind the come so it sounds good as a midrange as well, if you thought like in a 2-way system? This speaker is 6,5” and goes really deep. On monacor’s webpage one have the frequency curve on every driver at 1db/1M and this driver looks great even though beeing cheap! :) I wish I had a better mic because they sound so great, beeing so simple after all. The round ones are easier to furnish, but the TL sounds better.
You can also make sphere speakers using Ikea blanda matt bowls - I have done these and great results without need to work with resins.
That is true, as long as one gets the correct amount of volume for the designated speaker then it is all good. Doing creative stuff and having something No one else have is nice !
Really amazing work, but what made it even more epic... Playing it back at 1.75X the speed...the soundtrack slaps too hard, was jamming away
Have to try that ha ha
Niiice! I see your point! Drum’n bass ha ha
That system for sure makes for a good conversation starter, with any kind of person 😁
How do they sound?
Pretty marvelous. Placed in a corner they even gives good low frequencies. So I sold a couple to a company that have them in a lunchroom in the upper ceiling corners and they asked where the Subwoofer was. The tweeter is one of the expensive ones in Monacor’s catalogue and gives amazing details without beeing too sharp for listening even very loud!
Nice !
Very awesome and unique! 👍
Thanks man you took time to watch and write! I hope I have time this weekend to do a test and will do a video about it then :)
Love your work....and especially your very cleaver choice of mold.....the tea pot: A place for the tweeter...and a place for the mid-driver. Great.
Phenomenal build. Also, how does it sound? Is there any difference in sound when compared to wooden/MDF enclosures?
With this driver the volume was too small, but in general when you have no resonance at all like in this hard shell, the sound gets very clean and distinct! ;)
@@mackemacchiato3238 Thanks for replying. I wish I could listen to it in first person. Well, to tune this kind of speaker low, will be a challenge then. But it complements the spherical asthetics of your setup at the same time :D
@@zenvir1680 i went to my shop yesterday and have 2 unbuilt ones and thought I could to a wooden ring and make tho whole smaller and try a 6.5” driver to get a better kick-bass maybe. Also fill the bassreflex tube with some foam to adjust the frequency a bit. On every sub I could mount a steel-pipe and mount my smaller globe on top and thus making it a 3-way system. Thanks for showing interest :)
@@mackemacchiato3238 yes, kick bass sounds like a good idea for this kind of project, although I don't think I fully understand what you said, what is a 3-way system?😅 (not an audio expert on this side, just a curious DIYer)
The 6.5” was great! The best one for Transmission line, but it worked great here also and now I out a pole on top of it and the satellite speaker on it so it became a 3-way system.
Just found your channel and i think you do some great work. I'm wondering, where do you buy your speakers? I have a Harman kardon citation one with a blown 3.5 inch woofer and I have not been able to find a replacement. Thank you
Hey man! Thank you very much! I buy the drivers at Monacor and they have replacemnet cones also actually, so if you are good with contact glue you can fix it :)
