"Something, Somewhere, Somewhen" - Meet Yip Yew Chong the artist behind the Murals of Old Singapore
my favourite local footballer since childhood.
Best Singapore footballer ever…
Best player ever, Fandi's miss was not to take up the 3 year Ajax offer. Fandi and the rest of the players back in the 60s right up to the mid 90s, they gave Singapore quality football. During away games, I will sit beside the radio to listen to the live commentary, those were good times.
Listen and learn from the expert. Fandi is very humble and friendly, met him couple of time. He trained very hard to be what he is now.
Fandi Ahmad is Singapore's legend.
Fandi is a Singapore Legends player. Best Sg player by far.
Yupp . Bro . U are humble & Great guy . Tqvvm . GOAT . 🇸🇬 . Legend .
Fandi, my hero. He emphasised the importance of holding the ball up as a striker, and I remeber him doing it brilliantly too, winning free kicks etc. Sign of an intelligent player. Fandi was the best Singaporean footballer ever, hands down. The only Sg player I saw who reminded me of Fandi was former skipper Shahril Ishak (whom also idolises Fandi btw). Nobody now for me, sadly.
great video, hope you make more content!!
It's now well in the past, but it must have been hard to be away from his kid... I'd say fiction is good for empathy, but it's also good to get news ideas, which are always needed to improve our world.
Power goal scorer yet humble man, great to hear his heart to heart talk, so sincere. All the best to you Mr Fandi
Dreaming about the day Singaporeans can come as 1 again to watch a spectacular match supporting team Singapore 🇸🇬💫🤍
Glad I was able to witness Malaysia Cup and watched Fandi played with other best players in Singapore. Miss the good old days of Kallang roar
People in the comments celebrating a washed up player living on nostalgia and dementia lol
what have u achieved in your life? he has achieved so much and contributed so much to Singapore so fans has every right to remember the brilliance he was on and off the field... another clueless keyboard warrior...
We have football hater here
Fandi ahmad 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I still remember his debut in causeway derby, he played defense mostly kacau our striker la, super mokh and friends. Fandi always been scold by capt samad as a junior biasa la tu. Interesting fact about fandi in his early days, he indeed scored spectacular goals, surely he knows how to be calm and composed, he once played in defensive midfielder....now we know this living legend don't talk nonsense, 3 of his kids played simultaneously on national team. You don't see it regularly, world greatest football player also doesn't have that privilege....but Fandi did it to Singapore..
Fandi is larger than life. His moment is yet to come.
Great interview and lessons..I thnk the SE Asian players must listen to this legend and learn to be world class
Saya asli Indonesia Benarkah fandi berasal dari keluarga dari Pacitan Jawa timur Indonesia
No he is born in Singapore. Ramai orang Singapore Melayu dahulu semasa perang Jepun asal dari Jawa, Bugis, Boyan. Tapi selapasa tahun 50an, 60 hingga sekarang semua tak ada kaitan dengan jawa,, bugis etc. Kita kebanyakkan orang Melayu
1988 - A skinny 15 year old kid used to ride his bicycle every evening to the DBKL field in Brickfields to watch his heroes train. The KL FA team put together by the Datuk Bandar at the time Tan Sri Elyas Omar. Rashid Hassan, Razip Ismail, Serbegeth Singh, Lim Teong Kim, Mat Zan Mat Aris, K Kannan, the unforgettable high-pitch screeching of Malek Awab down the wing. All legends of the game in their own right. But one footballer stood head and shoulders above the rest…Fandi Ahmad. Fandi used to drive to training in his Honda CRX. One of the most humble guys you could meet. Always took the time to say hi and a little word of encouragement to that scrawny little kid, despite already being a superstar in the region and one of the most famous strikers in Asia at the time. Every time KL played Selangor, that little kid went up to him the evening before the game and begged him to score. He didn’t disappoint! A hero to that little kid. 34 years ago. I was that little kid.
Asalam Fandi Ahmad u the best
The best young players during that time were Fandi ( Singapore) Puyapong (Thailand) and Zainal Abidin ( Malaysia)
look forward not backwards...
Ok that is truely words from the legend himself mark this words " practice correctly makes perfect " , not practice makes perfect
Congratulations
Am M'sian was a young kid at the time Fandi was playing overseas, can remember many Malaysians looked up to Fandi. Legend in these parts. It's a pity we don't hear of such talents these days.
I m Malaysian, fandi football legand, during his peak he one of the best in asia.
Great player...
He is so calm and so focused Zero red card or fights all his playing days
Singapore football son.

Sorry to say Today Singapore football no one like Fandi Ahmad anymore. . .
Thank U Mr Fandi and your Teammates for Bringing Singapore Close Together regardless of race at your era. Hope we can have that One Singapore atmosphere, regardless of race and religion again Suporting our beloved Country Singapore soon. 😘
I adore Fandi Ahmad since I was in primary school. Now I am already in early 40s.
As a kid remember a game where the opponent equalized and right at the restart, Fandi dribbles past several players and straight away scored. That was brilliant
Remember those days ☺️
My school gangs ourselves we from kaki Bukit primary and secondary went to Kallang stadium and watched fandi brilliant performanced in the Lion City Cup in his haydays! Fandi was brilliant and the Singapore 🇸🇬 team whacked the Malaysian states by at least 5 zeros. We really enjoyed watching those games immensely. Very fond memories. I remember Razali. He was our schoolmates in our primary school. He was very good brilliant footballer. U can ask Fandi and I’m sure he would vouched for him.
Razali Alias?
His advice is true. We love his skills during Malaysian cup days. Hopefully his 3 sons can bring Spore football team soar high to the next level.
F. A. M dngr lah kelohan sya rkyt malyasia peminat bole umtok negra. Buka la pintu seluas 2 umtok bola sepak dari Singapura msok kn balek ke liga kita.. Dpt kn balek kemerihan mcn zaman80an. 90an.. Tolak isi politik. Umtok bola sepak
Really cool segment this. Fandi was Singapore's best, by a mile. He gave his all and more. And I do believe, his sons will be key players for the national team in years to come. Astonishing.
That are still sickening red-eye freaks (even among his fellow MALAYS) that his sons selection (National Team) are based on reputation rather than merit as if there are anyone miles better than them in their respective position.
Legendary
The younger generations of footballers have so much to learn from this Lagendary FANDI AHMAD, his professionalism, his patriotism, and his HUMILITY.
Fandi will always be our Singapore legend. He can really bring fans of different race and age together. Good to see him bring in his kids for Singapore football. Singapore football owe a lot to him.
That last Question and Answer was touching…… Thank you Fandi
Yes agree, he has brought singaporean of different races and religion together as one at that time.
