The date 📅 📆 is Sunday 15th September 2024. It’s the 3 car class 507 is currently allocated to ME - Merseyrail is now formally allocated to the company. It’s been going on for almost 😅 50 years since around 1978. The brand new 🆕 class 777s have previously replaced the class 507s and 508s is because the 1970s trains 🚂 🚆 🚊 are ageing their age. No toilet 🚻 🚽 🚾 on board is because it’s a short distance service. Standard class accommodation only. ME - Merseyrail runs everyday including public holidays except Christmas 🎄🎅 🧑🎄 🤶 Day and perhaps 🤔 Boxing 🥊 Day. 👍 😁

That was most enjoyable. Of particular interest was the Drax train with a 66 and a 60 at the head. I must say how much I like GB Railfreight using Retro liveries, in this case with a British Railways transfer on the side of the 66.

Now the only PEP left is the class 320 (built around 1990)
I believe there is one more PEP tour for Merseyrail, but no dates have been confirmed. Edit: The date has been confirmed, @liverpooltrains has posted it.
I don't think the Class 320 is a PEP, its a Mk3 derived unit and there are other Mk3 derived sets left such as the 318, 320, 325 interestingly, 455, and all the sprinters

So very enjoyable! Ramsbottom is where I lived as a child. For a brief period as a schoolboy I actually took the steam train daily from Ramsbottom to Bury. The scenery is so lovely. As for the trains: it may be a cliché to say this but they are like living creatures, beautiful machines to behold.
Riding steam locomotives to school sounds like an amazing way to start a school day, and I agree that steam locomotives feel like more than just machines; each one has its own personality. Thanks for watching!
