Inspect the cones and cups at each end of the work for wear or pitting. Likewise the worm itself. All the balls will need replacing and you might need to rebush the housing where the Pitman shaft runs. Replace the oil seal O ring too. Only ever fill with EP 90 oil. Never ever use grease.

Basically, it's the same unit as on a left hand drive Sunbeam Alpine Series car. Getting the Pitman arm off required a special tool. A 2 legged pulled will never work. You shouldn't apply beat to the arm.

Just save the switch constantly ..
