SPACE ECHO Roland RE-201 Fully functional with traces of use. It was only used in the studio. Without scratchy pots. All electrolytic capacitors are replaced with Low ESR electrolytic capacitors (Nichicon Fine Gold, Panasonic FC, FR...). The original Pinch Roller has been replaced by better bearing Pinch Roller. Sounds very warm and very musically.

This is great! Some of the returns on the vocals and the drum machine sound like stereo / ping pong. How is that possible when the output of the unit is mono?
ECHO is MONO and REVERB is STEREO. VRS 23 has stereo output but mono input

I've got several CX-1 comps and they are BEASTS. Then JT-115 transformers aren't vital, but they do tend to butter crusty bread. It's definitely not subtle, clean compression that we're talking about. This is an angry honey badger, not a cute squirrel.

@@prodsunss I couldn't part with these, m'dude. Sorry. A proper clone would require recreating the 1537A 14-pin VCA. While not impossible, it's a challenge. Sourcing original forty-year-old ones would be tough, too.

To the right of ECHO-VOLUME is the power switch. Below ECHO-VOLUME is a switch for output level H-M-L (high, medium, low).

Again the sound quality here is astounding. My RE-201 doesn't sound anywhere near this musical!! And I've had two different techs service it over the years. :(
It is so clear how much better this one sounds than the other demos. Is it just that you're running the correct gain staging/impedance matched signals? Or it must be the re-capping.
MAN. I've been watching FX demos for days. This one is just leagues ahead of the rest. Thanks for sharing!

@@egosynth86 it seems like its is basically a mono unit. the output remains mono. the whole thing probably does not like having stereo signals sent to it. i know of studios using these in PAIRS for each channel one...best wishes
