The KwaZulu-Natal Archives Oral History Unit was established in 2012 and is the first fully-fledged Oral History unit that was set up in South Africa to preserve the province's oral legacy. Its collections include “workers history, family history, women history, indigenous knowledge system (IKS), heritage and culture, amakhosi (chiefs and traditional leaders), struggle veterans, domestic workers, sports, uMkhonto Wesizwa Veterans Association (MKVA) and Azanian People’s Liberation Army (APLA), religion and culture, family trees, artists (performing and non-performing) including musicians, writers, visual artists and poets”. The preservation of oral history records is important because it safeguards information that often stems from an individual’s personal memory relating to their observation of, or actual participation in, past events. Oral history enhances the understanding of the past for both present and future generations.

Amanda, Kwandile and Mandisa Madondo
The KwaZulu-Natal Archives and Records Service Oral History Unit made history by recording the story of the Madondo triplets-Amanda, Kwandile, and Mandisa-from KwaNyuswa. The recording, held in Kloof, documented the lives of these siblings, born in 1996, who received early support from South African poet Mzwakhe Mbuli through donations of milk and other essentials.
The triplets faced numerous hardships throughout their lives. They lost their brother, Mduduzi, in 2003, their father, Zenzele, in 2007, and their eldest sister, Bongiwe, in 2018. Tragedy struck again on the morning of Bongiwe's funeral with the passing of their mother. Bongiwe left behind a seven-year-old son and a one-month-old daughter.
Through these challenges, the triplets found strength in their paternal grandmother, MaDubazane, who became their steadfast support. Nearing her centenary, she served as their rock and guiding figure.
With only matric certificates, the triplets survived by taking on piecemeal jobs while nurturing aspirations for tertiary education. Their older sister, Thandeka, remained the only one with stable employment. Despite the overwhelming tribulations of their past, the triplets carried forward with gratitude, courage, and hope for a better future.

Sibonge ngomlando wakwa Zulu babu Mdletshe. History books and History that we were taught in school always said that iLembe King Shaka ka Senzangakhona did not have an heir but in recent years I've read and heard that Mbuyazwe/Mbuyazi and Ingonyama uJinindi omnyama UCETSHWAYO whom we were always told that they were both sons of iSilo SakwaNodwengu iNkosi uMpande ka Senzangakhona were indeed not sons of King Mpande but were both sons of ILembe eleqa amanya maLembe iSilo sakwa Dukuza king Shaka ka Senzangakhona. How much truth is in that?
Eyy Wasihlanganisa isizwe uShaka 👏🫡

I did Ops Askari with 201 BN…. Bushmen, ops driver with Romeo Mike. Had our B52 radio shot out in the back of thec Buffel hanging on the roll bar. I short circuited the Buffel batteries and soldered the wires back on the hand piece. A week later we had the Moggel engine shot out by an RPG7 while bogged in a Shona. We got a replacement engine delivered by a Puma and 1 Tiffie to help us. Being a diesel mech myself, we changed the engine in 6 hours and got going towards Mupa for supplies. What a blessing Mupa was, lovely river, fresh water, washing and re supply before heading off to the East of Cuvelai. LT De Jager and Cpl Ottogalli from 201 BN can confirm this, no BS

Seeing the tears of a hardened soldier, especially 32's recce unit, makes me a mere soldier of the old SADF feel like such a woos. These guys did the dirty work no one else dared to attempt. In a way, I owe my existence to to guys like this, They fought the battles we never knew about at the time. I know it is a cliché, but the words Brothers in Arms best describes these unique individuals that made such a big difference in so many lives outside their own circle of brotherhood. I thank you sir's, today I have a family thanks to your efforts.
Mafunze awumncinyane! Baba uHadebe ngicela ningiphe inamba kaMkhulu uGordon, ngidinga usizo ngomlando wakwa Ngcobo.

Amabhunu ayekade ephethe umlilo (is'bhamu) bekade engenabo ububele yize ayengahlaseli kodwa abenazo izinhloso ezingezinhle. Into yawo ay'xoleleki. Lomlando uvuna amabhunu kunokuthi uveze kabanzi ngezizathu zamabhunu ukuthi ahlale ehlomile. Kukhona ok'salayo.

Bunch of neo nazi's fighting oppressed people Neo nazi's from racist 1970s s.a. white government people were fighting for their freedom, their independence. NO NEED TO THINK FURTHER BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT WAS. STILL GOING ON TODAY!!.
Still going on today?! South Africa still has a Neo nazi racist govt?!
I'd bet there are many people very disappointed that the guy who got the sambok was white. Now they have nothing to virtue signal and be outraged about.
