I guess maybe once a month.
So pretty!
💚
How do you propagate this plant? I have the same one, triple the size, it was passed down to me and I would really like to grow some smaller ones.
You should see some ariel roots. They look like bumps. Next you want to cut about a half a inch below those and then just place it in water to propagate for about a month and you should be good this one roots pretty fast
@@growingwithshawn thank you so much! I had no idea how to do this without killing off my plant. It is about 80 years old and a family treasure
Absolutely the only reason why I know how to propagate this plant is because if you look closely, I have a vase that’s beside it that I ended up propagating the plant because I broke some of it when I was moving it outdoors. But I’m glad my accident helped.
How do you get rid of gnats and critters that are infesting your plants ?
Usually, that’s an indication of too much moisture so definitely check your soil just to make sure you’re not having any root. Also go to Amazon and it’s called fruit fly traps. 💚
You have obviously put in a lot of time with your plants. Well done and thank you very much.
I've been looking at this for a while. If I'm planning on using leca in a semi hydroponics situation, how would I use this? Water reservoir type thing. Thanks.
Pretty...bringing my pothos back to life.. lol
2:37 -- I have a question about your soil choice: - I purchased some _cheap_ soil from Walmart touting worm casting and natural fertilizer (it was not this brand) and it made a couple of my plants _sick_ -- there was mold, fungus, and large yellow mushrooms growing on top of the soil. *My question* - Have you experienced this with _Sea __-n-__ Farm_ soil?
No, I have not experienced that with the sea farm. But I have experience that before with a terrible potting soil. Something I picked up from the dollar store who knows. I’m certain that it’s not the soil brand. It was how it was transferred to the store. Most likely it was left outside in the rain for a long time before it was probably shelved. I don’t buy any soil that’s outside. I would definitely swap it out because it’s not gonna be good for your plants in the long term. 💚
@@growingwithshawn -- thank you. I will definitely toss it, and I will avoid the _cheap_ brands and watch out for the soil stored outside, going forward.
@ sweet, I’m not saying to avoid them all together because people dislike miracle grow but I personally think it’s pretty good. So you could’ve just gotten a bad batch now if you see it again with that brand then I wouldn’t trust it anymore. We have all used a moldy bag before. it’s part of the journey. Happy growing 💚
Loving the plant room. Beautiful. ❤ Everything looks great. I'm loving the chair as well!
@@gizmo4774 thank you. I’m really loving the space now as a season slows up I could just reflect. Unfortunately the plants won’t get all that sunlight but I’ll just have to double up on the grow lights.
Just gorgeous ❤🎉😊
Thank you 💚
Loving all the Plants Sawn 💯💯💯
Much appreciated 💚
Wow look at those leaves… beautiful plant 😊
Look into clear food storage containers and drill holes.. you should be able to get up to 5 gallon. You might have a bulk/restaurant supply store open to the public.
We actually have a place called Depot. I’m a check it out. I never thought about that. Thanks a lot 💚
Ooooo.......pretty! 😊
Loving that Orange Marmalade

Beautiful. I hope to find a little one oneday. I just purchased 2 11×12 clear pots on Etsy. More than I wanted to spend though. Hopefully it's a one time deal. Lol.
@@gizmo4774 they are definitely not cheap. Hopefully. I saw a person the other day make a homemade clear container and used ones like sobert ice cream come in as well.

Great video Shawn and what a fantastic plant
@@bigfishlad4847 thanks man. Such an easy one. If you have a lot of plants it’s nice to have a few low maintenance. And for the look they give you can’t beat the price

Beautiful!! My lemon lime philo reverted😢
Noooo 😮 I’m sorry. Well if everything keeps on the way I want them too. I’m going to be cutting back at the start of spring and maybe I can get you cutting to start. We can see. 💚
@growingwithshawn Thank you:) Your'e Awesome!
Beautiful collection
Thank you.
Beautiful plant 😍I want one
You know I picked these up for 14 bucks apiece at my local grocery store
Love your plantroom vibes 🫰😌
Thank you 💚
Those plants are beautiful!
Thanks so much 😊. I bought them from a local grocery store for cheap! 💚
@growingwithshawn wow! Nice!
Omg, would you just _look_ at all that gorgeous greenery! Seeing it in someone else's house, like that, is a real nice change. Sure, I have greens, whites & purples too, but yers are very different. I like it, Pisco. 😂😂😂❤ EDIT: Stick a piece of Cling Wrap over top of the open part on the top of that pot, she's in. Spray her with a light mist of water 1st. That _should_ hold in more moisture for at least a day or 2. I live in Canada & _oh man_ is it a bone dry heat here, _all_ freakin' winter long. Great for catus, sucks moose balls for literally *everything* else! 😅
@@Digitalhunny I’m definitely taking your advice because this one is a personal struggle. I get so frustrated. I had to give it the greenhouse just to keep it alive. I don’t like difficult plants, but if I already accidentally bought one, I’m gonna do my best to care for it. I’m using some Christmas cling now. Thanks again. 💚
Is the peru a slow grower? Mine has had 3 leaves for like 4 months now. It's getting taller but no new leaf yet
Yes it is a slow grower especially if you’re comparing it to the monstera adansonii. I wouldn’t expect more that 1 leaf every 1-2 months maybe. Lighting and humidity are key so attached to something to grow on they can do better. If you can get a vine to attach to moss it will push them faster. Just be careful root rot will take them out fast so keep a look out for your soil if it’s still a major concern.
@growingwithshawn thanks for the tips ❤️
Mine has no leaves right now lol. Trying to figure out what will work. Thanks for posting
It’s a top soil plant. When the top is dry it’s time to water it. That’s still my struggle. Keep me updated. It’s a hardy forgiving plant so I think it will take back off once we give them that water 😂. Have a good one 💚
You clearly missed a crucial step... wtf did you spray them leafies with? Dish soap & water, Purel, peroxide or pepper spray?? 😂😂😂
Thanks for your feedback. The homemade spray actually has a lot of benefits! It’s a mix of 1oz neem oil 1oz peppermint soap and 10oz of water that I’ve found to be effective for pest resistance and healthy foliage. I appreciate questions, so please feel free to reach out if you’d like any more details. Just a reminder that sometimes the simplest solutions can be really effective, even if they don’t come with a lengthy description! Thanks again for watching. 💚
@growingwithshawn You gonna make a short video for us, the next time you need to mix up a batch?? I might have to sub, you know to keep an eye on your content. For um, research. Yeah, that sounds right, right? 🤣🤣🤣 I'm being silly have a great night. 😁
Ofc I’ll make one. That’s what we’re here for. Gotta have fun doing this. Hope your day starts off amazing 💚
What soil mix do you use for this plant?
Airy mix. Coco husk, perlite, orchid bark, indoor potting mix. Its a mix called orchid mix by black gold that does a really great job right out the bag that does a great job if your nervous about the mix. 💚
@ thank you
Alrighty guys I just found out it’s a philodendron orange marmalade. I knew it looked different but I trusted the label.
Beautiful
She's a beauty!
I just couldn’t leave in the store. I got it from the store i talked trashed about last month.

@@mdt6176 thank you 💚
Quick question 🙂 I see the ones you have on moss poles in the back my white princess out grew her first moss pole she’s tall and beautiful she continues to pop out new leafs about every three weeks. Do you recommend to continue her growth on another moss pole or would she be fine with out the second moss pole?
Without knowing the exact size, I would suggest you build another one unless it’s so tall to the point of it starts to lean over and potentially fall. If so, then I would definitely just cut the plant and transition to another moss pole.
Beautiful plants 🪴 👍🏽
