Why Self-Improvement is an Illusion – Machiavelli’s Philosophy of the Downgoing
In this video, we explore the concept of self-improvement through the lens of Machiavelli's philosophy, dissecting why endless self-betterment can sometimes feel like empty indulgence. Drawing on his ruthless realism, we'll dive into Machiavelli's notion of the "downgoing"-the idea that true strength often requires embracing difficult truths over superficial gains. This approach challenges the popular self-help narrative, urging us to confront reality directly, accept our flaws, and use action, not motivation, to drive meaningful change.

get practical book
This is brilliant. I'm so glad i was recommended this video. Very concise and intriguing!
I am glad that the video is recommended to the right audience.
It doesn't matter - nihilism
The miserable path
added to my books to read before world domination mmm
This is the kind of video that gets 1 millions after 5 years
But Nietzsche was weak and hated himself for example Salome.
He didn't expect that from her..
like your content but its way too short and only touches on the surface of things. also nowadays we cant tell if you're using AI voiceover and/or AI generated script / content.
I understant I am a weak person who wants to be someones's savior always. People borrow money from me and do not pay back while a friend of mine do not let pass he is the nicest guy but when he wanst his money back he transforms!
There is no problem to help people who appreciate your assistance, but make sure you're always kind and NOT nice.
The meaning lies in the process of finding it out.
Exactly, that's why we entertain for days but we sacrifice for decades.
Nietzsche was the weakest and loneliest man he knew, and was lou salome's cuck, his commentary has nothing to do with philosophy or particularly deep thinking - just expressing his self loathing for our entertainment. Nothing more to be said - do some push-ups, love your person, dont be a Nietzsche
The current western ideology is a war against masculinity- act accordingly
*Schopenhauer's "problem" was that he was most likely raised to think that humans were special.* Instead of realizing that life is a struggle for ALL LIVING THINGS (and we are just another animal on earth), he was most likely brought up with religion, which suggests that humans are _above_ the basic struggle for survival ("God is in control", etc.). His attitude was the result of him trying to reconcile what he was raised to believe, with what he was _actually_ observing. It has been said that the most cynical people are actually the most optimistic. And the reason why they are cynical, is because their optimism was crushed by reality. It makes sense, doesn't it? Think about what we were told about women. The love and devotion. The desire and sex. Romance and relationships. Family. That's what we were _told._ Now think about what we actually _see_ juxtaposed to what we were taught...BY WOMEN. Only an intellectual dunce is unaffected by that.
Absolutely, Schopenhauer has a hidden view that is gradually becoming more visible to the public nowadays.
Cheating is a choice!
I always thought there was something wrong with Machiavelli
It is much more worst when you are a scape goat of an elite family and you live like a servant, they look at you with shame and cast you out to only see you thrive and build your own pride. This is my story, I am thankful for their mistreat of me, for they build me a character of resilience.
"Having things isn't exciting, getting things is exciting"
"self improvement" bros trying not to misunderstand stoicism and macchiavelli
It almost makes you grateful of the things you’re lacking. You then have the privilege to obtain them on your own volition. Life is ultimately a test of struggle, and the only way to make it worthwhile is to obtain goals as a test of your creativity and character. Good vid btw!
Absolutely, gratitude is what makes things worth.
Ohh, I've made all these errors. Appreciate that.
it's a great opportunity to learn from them.
No matter how developed we become we can't be hundred percent mature masculine as our ancestors were.
It's terrifying..
🤣ur chasing something that doesnt exist
@@johnpoker-y1s you're right.
They had a harder life.
can see what ur doing please make original content rather than condensing other peoples shit in the realm of philosophy, each of our contributions matter, and if you are going to use other people's ideas as a framework, at least credit them - if you aren't going to put any effort towards your videos, please just dont make them thanks!
Be thankful for the darkness, for it is in them we hunger for the light, it is in the dark night of the soul and not giving in to its nihilism, we hunger for the light. We create the butterfly in us and become into the story we were truly meant to be.
That's brilliant, I love it.
@@VIGOUR-DEP thanks.

nietzsche is totaly rigth and i dont have time anymore to think otherwise...so thats it, lets cut of some weak habits, weak spirits, and weak people off, and lets going straigtly into the superior realms where the ubermench lies on
Soooo Nietzsche aldo hated cucks?
Keep making it bro🎉
there is a new exciting episode about Negotiation tonight, stay tuned😉
Says the guy who died childless and unmarried at 55, who was a teacher for a few years before travelling in Italy and Switzerland and basically being a tramp. He died weak, virgin and was dependant on his sister, he didn't achieve anything valuable besides his writings. But I like him anyway.
Actually, the most thing that quite led him to his madness is his ex who treated him as an experiment which he thought that she is the love of the rest of his life.
Sooooo should I read or not or read then where to start?
To be fair, you're describing half of the philosophers.
@@Lofii138 Wasn't his ex. Also that's really not it. It was likely syphilis
Here's the thing. Nietzche never victimized himself, never lied, but rather embraced his struggling existence. He achieving something valuable through his writing is exactly what a philosopher does lol. He hit the nail on the head about the lack of moral values without god and his fears of the future societies. We're seeing it in full display today. He also thought that philosophers arising in a society is a sympton of weakness and decadence in such society, so he being weak in 1870 germany wasn't really far shoot. Mustache man appeared some decades later as a reaction of such weakness, for good or for bad.
Few tips with great value
glad, you find it useful
AI crap :( 👎
I think it was because of his poor relationship with his mother
I have a great relationship with my mother but women of today's generation are toxic and narcissistic on an entirely different level...... You can't just put the blame on the mother.....
Beautiful video <3
Glad you find it insightful

“ Why Does Schopenhauer Hate Women?” have you ever talked to one?
Few ideas are from the perspective of Schopenhauer.
everyone hates, even themselves. They can’t handle their own nature
Women holds the power, and its not what they wanted but its intented by the nature. But accepting you have a power and not using all the time for the attention is what makes a respectable women.
If women shows its evil side then it's the end..
Bro who doesnt hate them at this point 😂
😂
I don't even consider them humans..... They are practically invisible to me like I was to them a few years ago.....
Because he wished he could be one.
😂
they are just like me fr
I get where you're coming from but think carefully before you cut people out of your life. You do have to get certain people out of your life to move forward but you also need to maintain relationships because of work, family obligations etc. It can be a very tough call.
I wouldn’t say people are purely good or bad, but rather a mix of both. Therefore, it’s important to figure out who truly adds value to your life before wasting time.
@@VIGOUR-DEP definitely thanks for the upload, it got me thinking.

Detachment is the core peace in life.
It's really hard for a woman to balance between her career and raising a family. As a man my theory always is why would my woman work for someone if I could give twice of she could earn ?. Honestly there's no masculinity if you allow your women to work for someone else. Women are exceptional.
Women nowadays are heavily influenced by external factors, often referred to as 'propaganda,' making it difficult for them to make decisions that align with their family's values. Let me know if you'd like further adjustments!
