Yes, brake dust. The gear retraction system includes an automatic wheel-braking function (the wheels should always be stopped prior to retraction - damage due to gyroscopic effect is possible). When the brakes are applied by the system, varying amounts of dust can be seen coming from each brakes wheel/bogie just as the retraction sequence starts.
