This is a collector with 5 tubes (Ø40) seamlessly joined into a central tube, engineered to push the limits of 3D printing. This unique piece is designed for ultimate precision, testing both hoverhand at a 25º angle and a minimum wall thickness of just 2mm.
The aim is to design and manufacture a hollow part with an oval core inside, which is also hollow.
They’ve designed and 3D printed a hollow part with an oval-shaped core that's also... you guessed it, hollow! To ensure the entire part was printed flawlessly, they added drop-shaped windows so they can easily peek inside.
This intricate one-part, inclined pipe joints and internal geometry? You guessed it-*they can’t be manufactured* any other way! Traditional tools simply can't reach the inside.
