I loved this book!

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

I've been reading TJ Klune, and I honestly have very mixed feelings about his books that I've been trying to sort through, because all the right ingredients are there, and yet, the resulting meal is only "pretty good," "interesting," or "okay." One problem is that sometimes it feels like Klune is patting himself on the back for being cute, sweet, poignant, or clever in certain moments, and I couldn't tell you offhand where that impression is coming from. Another problem is that character interactions can feel very chaotic and "ADHDish," especially when three or more characters are in a scene, because everyone will be chiming in and vying for attention with their unique quippy quips. These two problems in combination create the third problem, which is that jokes and quips that *should* be funny instead feel annoying, distracting, or inappropriate. I'd say a fourth problem is that the "cozy" feel of his books undermine any sense of stakes, because it inherently feels like everything will turn out okay and the world's not that dangerous after all. Thoughts?

Great review! Yes, I'm reading this currently, and it's a super thrilling book so far. Sometimes you have to be in the mood for this kind of book. I'm 40% in, and it's changed POV in Part II, so I see what you mean, getting meta. I've watched some of the same booktube content as well, and yes, Hailey Hughes left a bad review for an extreme horror author and got lots of hate and backlash from the author and his fans. It makes me wonder if Taylor Adam was inspired to write this as a satire due to social media/booktube review craziness like that.

Hello, I sometimes watch UA-cam that reads the original. My child found this book in the library, but there is no UA-camr who reads it. Can I make content to read the original? Only three official books are available in Korea. It will be very helpful for friends who like this series.^^

This book is a 3 rating for me. The ending was TRASH!!! Absolutely rabbish.

You sound unrealistic. The amount of victims in real life that behaved just like Rachel out of true fear and fear of bad timing. Search for Elizabeth Smart, she was in public in large crowds during the day with her kidnapper. She never ran because he told her he would kill her family since he knew where they lived.

It was ok. I thought he was really trying to talk about depression. It was a little hard to follow since I've never been to New York.

People are so different. When I read sentient spider plant I was in 😂. I loved this book.

If I'm being honest, the tapping story could be used as an interesting element for a horror story.

I found the name of the planet to be extremely annoying to read throughout this book. It really got on my nerves.

I loved the book, Chapters 1-5 I felt seen, because I’ve never met or come across another person who thinks love is just an emotion to help humans reproduce. The whole plot reads like childish talk even in their 30s but you realize that they were talking as adults even as kids even though it sounded out of touch. Chapter 6, well, as an extreme horror reader I was very happy 😅, messed up but also very interesting, breaking boundaries, sort of starting from scratch, so many questions were running through my mind, great read.

Just bought a copy! Looking forward to receiving it in the mail soon! There are so many neat editions of this book.

It’s about a man who lost his son and now his wife is estranged. He longs for the family he had. The whole story his him rationalizing with himself on why he can sleep with head when he knows it’s illegal. He complains that other people are hypocrites because they went through their own rationalization to adjust to the new world. He was trying to get his wife back. When he realized his wife was willing to play with his delusion the female head was no long useful. Reread the story as him trying to figure how to get his wife back.

I loved this book. My only complaint is that it is too short.

I just finished Earthlings. I looked up the title on youtube to gather some others thoughts on it. I'm glad I found your video! My thoughts on the book are: "Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?"
