Not going to lie, this doesn't cause me any heart ache, it's actually causing me to be frustrated. There are so many things blocking Blake that it's not funny. For one, his father is the King and thus his word is the supreme law, he can straight up tell Blake your mind has been tampered with, you don't love Remi, and I know you are bound to this person. You are going to marry them and that's that. Plus so many people are telling him, you're mind has been messed with, just listen to us. When so many people tell you the same thing, that kind of proves something isn't right and they're telling the truth along with the fact parts of his memory are clouded and it hurts to try and uncover them, that screams mind magic. Not to mention for Blake not to do so would be murder, the royal house absolutely can't have that in a future ruler, one so calloused as to let another die with no remorse or attempt to save them. Then you have the point that, since this is fantasy and gods are always involved, somebody could inform the temple of Blake and the Listener's bond. For him to defy that is to defy the goddess, since usually that belongs to a female, of love and marriage. Plus, since it was done with magic, that would defy the god/goddess of magic. Since temples to the gods are pretty well informed in fantasy as what affects one affects all of the gods'/goddess' houses, Blake would have to marry the listener as all would refuse him. Then you have the fact that, if he still was callouse enough to refuse, this would spark tension with the other kingdoms, declaring their royal house heretical for Blake daring to defy the gods' holy bonding. To be declared heretical would mean a holy war is potentially inevitable unless Blake conceeds to marry the listener and no other kingdom would lift a hand in their defense out of fear that they would be declared heretical and be eliminated as well. Blake really is in a logically bad position and he should see that the only way out of this mess is to just marry the listener. I really hope this gets resolved soon, my poor heart can't take anymore of Blake's terrible tunnelvision. LOL

Season 1 was gut wrenching by implication, this season makes my heart physically hurt because AT LEAST WHEN WE COULDN’T REMEMBER BLAKE WE WEREN’T GETTING MARRIED TO SOMEONE ELSE AND HE WASN’T DYING AS A DIRECT RESULT.
